Where the information contained in the [pre-application questionnaire] suggests applicants do not meet the basic requirements of any of the programs, the officer must send them a letter of discouragement. This letter does not have to include a detailed, tailor-made narrative. The officer may use a form letter of discouragement, provided it includes a sufficient number of explanations accompanied by boxes to be checked that cover all possible reasons why the applicant appears unlikely to meet Canadian program requirements.

It attempts to individualize the sequence of instruction via the appropriate selection of successive tasks from a pool of 100 sample problems. In contrast with Kimball' s distance metric on probabilistic values, BIP bases its selection on information contained in a network, called the Curriculum Information Network(CIN), that relates tasks in the curriculum to issues in the domain knowledge.

Thus, if you want to change from scanning OCR-A to OCR-B, a new header sheet would be required.
