Contouring the hitherto square AVE container can produce an extra 40 per cent capacity, but this entails sacrifice of compatibility with the L-1011 TriStar fleet. To get over this problem, British Airways is experimenting with an expandable container, officially designated AVD, which can fit the L-1011 and which can be reconfigured in less than half a minute. Twenty such "concertina" containers went into experimental service in May of this year.... 1, record 31, English, - expandable%20container

Within the container trade evolution there has developed the popular term the container generation. The "first" generation(about 1966/68), applies to those normally designed cargo liners which were adapted for container stowage, mostly "on deck" and "below", and handled by conventional cranage of suitable capacity.... Additional to the "generation vessels" has been the development of feeder ships... 2, record 32, English, - first%20generation%20container%20vessel

There often is no space for the larger storage containers ... making the use of side or rear loaders with smaller caster-equipped containers the only solution. Although "caster-equipped container" can have a general meaning (i.e. any size container on casters), it is often used to describe this smaller container. "Roll-out container" is more specific but is less widely used. 1, record 33, English, - caster%2Dequipped%20container
