Vertical case loaders. This method of case loading is used primarily in the beverage, glass, can, and plastic container industries, where fragile or irregular-shaped containers require some special packing considerations. As with the horizontal case packers, the product is delivered to the machine infeed conveyor from upstream filling equipment to the accumulator section.... When all lanes are filled in the accumulator area, a formed corrugated case is positioned underneath the loading mechanism ready for depositing. At that point, retractable shifter plates in the accumulator area move out allowing the containers to drop vertically through fingers into the cells of the case...

OBS

Contrary to the French documentation that has been consulted, case loaders in the U.S. and probably Canada apparently load case only from above.

OBS

Les sources françaises consultées font notamment état d'un encaissage pouvant aussi s'effectuer verticalement par le dessous de la caisse, alors que la technologie américaine nous met en présence d'un encaissage qui ne se fait verticalement que par le dessus.

A frame made from angle iron, mounted on small rubber tires, with bridge truss construction. It is capable of carrying two people on seats that are mounted on wheels that move sideways. The float glides on wooden rails, the length of green-houses, over tobacco seedbeds. While passing over seedbeds of new tobacco seedlings, operators pull the green plants and place them in a container prior to their transfer to tobacco fields for final planting.
