The hydraulic needle effect is an important factor to consider when employing OC [oleoresin capsicum]. This is the consequence of the OC particulates penetrating the soft tissue of the eye. This is due to the correlation between the distance and the amount of pressure(size of the canister) in which it is delivered. Concerns have been raised about the possibility of soft tissue injury, prolonged irritation or possibly infection. Because of the possibility of the hydraulic needle effect, minimum safe distances have been established for each delivery system. 2, record 1, English, - hydraulic%20needle%20effect

1, record 1, French, - effet%20d%27aiguille%20hydraulique

Angular amplitudes and rates, and linear accelerations were measured with a six-axis-gyroscope. High-frequency vibrations were characterized with a triaxial accelerometer. Additional measurements from an onboard gyroscope with better resolution were used as a correlation factor between the two gyroscope systems. Fourier analysis of angular amplitudes and linear accelerations determined relevant frequencies for the system. Sources of error for the gyroscope system such as temperature drift and axes misalignment were identified and characterized. 2, record 2, English, - platform%20axes%20misalignment

The PCA (principal components analysis) was performed to reduce the 240-intercorrelated weather variables into a small number of linearly independent component variables, which explain much of the variance within the original dataset. Component loadings were calculated, which express the correlation between the original weather variables and the newly formed components.
