In statistics, regression analysis is a method for explanation of phenomena and prediction of future events. In the regression analysis, a coefficient of correlation r between random variables X and Y is a quantitative index of association between these two variables. In its squared form, as a coefficient of determination r 2, indicates the amount of variance in the criterion variable Y that is accounted for by the variation in the predictor variable X. In the multiple regression analysis, the set of predictor variables X1, X2,... is used to explain variability of the criterion variable Y. A multivariate counterpart of the coefficient of determination r 2 is the coefficient of multiple determination, R 2. The square root of the coefficient of multiple determination is the coefficient of multiple correlation, R.

CONT

The PCA (principal components analysis) was performed to reduce the 240-intercorrelated weather variables into a small number of linearly independent component variables, which explain much of the variance within the original dataset. Component loadings were calculated, which express the correlation between the original weather variables and the newly formed components. The number of principal components, of which the eigenvalue was greater than one, was retained to calculate component scores. Days with similar meteorological situations tend to exhibit approximately similar component scores.

Planimetric control. Segmentation is sometimes a ground step for correlation which approximates regions by plans, thus we have studied a way to control in 2D the planimetric differences between a reference and a segmentation outline. Various distances have been used for this purpose : Haussdorf distance from segmentation boundaries to reference ones seem to be the most appropriate. A recovering surface quality estimator has been tried and we have computed the ratio between intersection and union with respect to the both areas. This method will be used on many test sites.

Comparative studies are reported on the reliability of the results in the determination of blood glucose by glucosooxidase-peroxidase and o-tuluidine methods. Both methods have a good correlation, r=0, 9575 with n=61. The results indicate that the GOD/POD method and o-toluidine method have a good reproducibility in time and series and high accuracy. Due to the poorer toxicity of GOD/POD-method its broader implementation in routine practice is recommended.
