Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Wet hydrogen sulfide attacks mild steels and forms iron sulfide(FeS) as a corrosion product. On new steel, this attack is very rapid, but as the iron sulfide forms, it provides a protective coating or scale and corrosion drops to a low rate. A thickness of metal can be specified as "corrosion allowance" and the remaining steel then becomes virtually immune to further corrosion. 1, record 4, English, - corrosion%20allowance

1, record 4, French, - corrosion%20admissible
