In Class 2 operation, hand-off is synchronous(the CFP transmits first in MUX2; there is no MUX 3). The channel to hand-off to may be negotiated between CFP [cordless fixed parts] and CPP [cordless portable parts] prior to the hand-off via Candidate Channels and Channel Confirm message exchanges. If a synchronous hand-off fails, the CPP tries to re-establish using MUX3. The message used to invoke a class 2 hand-off has the ability to specify more than the 40 basic traffic channels, and when sent by a CFP, has the ability to turn down the CPP's transmit power. 1, record 2, English, - class%202%20hand%2Doff

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
