A crime of passion, in popular usage, refers to a crime in which the perpetrator commits a crime, especially assault or murder, against a spouse or other loved one because of sudden strong impulse such as a jealous rage or heartbreak rather than as a premeditated crime.

Canadians for Safe and Sober Driving was formed in 1983 as a direct result of the tragic and senseless death of 14-year-old Neil Gray of Brampton, who was killed by a drunk driver. That event fueled the passion of his parents and friends to act, and motivated by this terrible crime, they founded Against Drunk Driving(the Neil Gray Memorial Fund).
