1, record 17, French, - activiste%20provictime

The PPSC fulfills the responsibilities of the Attorney General of Canada in the discharge of his criminal law mandate by prosecuting criminal offences under federal jurisdiction and by contributing to strengthening the criminal justice system. In this regard, the PPSC assumes the role played within the Department of Justice Canada by the former Federal Prosecution Service(FPS), and takes on additional responsibilities for prosecuting new fraud offences under the Financial Administration Act as well as offences under the Canada Elections Act. Unlike the FPS, which was part of the Department of Justice, the PPSC is an independent organization, reporting to Parliament through the Attorney General of Canada. 1, record 50, English, - Public%20Prosecution%20Service%20of%20Canada

1, record 50, French, - Service%20des%20poursuites%20p%C3%A9nales%20du%20Canada

Department of Justice-Canada. The Government of Canada's Youth Justice Renewal Initiative was launched in May 1998. Since then, progress has been made in establishing a fair and effective youth justice system. The Initiative is based on three key directions : prevention, meaningful consequences for youth crime, and intensified rehabilitation and reintegration to help youth safely return to their communities. 1, record 62, French, - Initiative%20sur%20le%20renouvellement%20du%20syst%C3%A8me%20de%20justice%20pour%20les%20jeunes

On behalf of the federal government and 15 partner departments, the Public Health Agency of Canada coordinates the Family Violence Initiative(FVI). With the long-term goal of reducing the occurrence of family violence in Canada. The FVI promotes public awareness of the risk factors of family violence and the need for public involvement in responding to it; strengthens the criminal justice, housing, and health systems to respond; and supports data collection, research and evaluation efforts to identify effective interventions. This initiative marks a new stage in federal efforts to reduce family violence. The issue of family violence has been integrated into ongoing programming in many government departments. We have learned that the best way to address family violence is to support a common vision and a coordinated approach. 2, record 68, English, - Family%20Violence%20Initiative

Capable of adapting to future technologies, it will also be able to meet evolving policing needs. PROS is designed to improve information sharing and system integration among criminal justice community partners. The Criminal Code gives the Minister of Justice the power to review a conviction to determine whether there may have been a miscarriage of justice. This power has been part of Canada's justice system since the original Criminal Code of 1892. Today, the Minister's power to review convictions is set out in sections 696. 1-696. 6 in Part XXI. 1 of the Criminal Code. The Regulations Respecting Applications for Ministerial Review-Miscarriages of Justice outline the requirements for an application as well as the procedure that is followed once an application has been completed. The Criminal Conviction Review Group(CCRG), is comprised of lawyers who assist the Minister in this function.
