The Cross-track Infrared Sounder(CrIS) provides improved measurements of the temperature and moisture profiles in the atmosphere. Forecasters use temperature and moisture sounding data in advanced numerical weather prediction models to improve both global and regional predictions of weather patterns, storm tracks, and precipitation.

GRAS, le récepteur du système mondial de navigation par satellite destiné au sondage de l'atmosphère, est un instrument inédit en cours de réalisation par l'Agence spatiale européenne et destiné à être embarqué sur les satellites EPS d'EUMETSAT. Il recevra des signaux radios émis par des satellites de navigation, après un trajet tangentiel dans l'atmosphère. Un traitement de la dérive Doppler de la fréquence des signaux reçus permettra d'établir des profils de température et d'humidité, d'une grande précision et d'une résolution verticale élevée, en assurant une couverture globale. Le SAF en cours d'établissement utilisera les données GRAS pour la prévision numérique du temps, l'étude du climat et la recherche sur la troposphère.

Elle cherche aussi à conjuguer les efforts déployés auprès des adultes, des parents, des enfants et des familles. Genetic and Economic Aspects of Dairy Cattle Improvement Programs. OBJECTIVES : Document changes over time in relative economic values of a multitude of traits available on dairy bulls. Illustrate relationship between choosing bulls with a linear program and choosing bulls with other methods of selection. APPROACH : Economic values of predicted differences for milk, type, percent fat, fat, percent progeny and protein and linear type classifications will be estimated with linear programming and multiple regression for 1979 through 1989.
