In a collaborative manner, the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre is committed to improving the quality of life for all individuals and to building a safe and healthy community. Since 1979, the Centre has been offering a wide range of social and community services which include : counseling for individuals, families, children and youth; crisis intervention; individual and group support to women facing abuse and to children who witness violence; services for older adults, caregivers and persons with disabilities; information, resources and referral workshops and self-help groups; community development initiatives; and other services.

Tel-Aide is the official name used in Montreal for distress centre services. Tel-Aide Montréal has kindly allowed this name to be used in other parts of Quebec (e.g. Quebec City, Hull).

OBS

Although most "distress or crisis centers" offer a round-the-clock anonymous telephone listening service, the concept of a phone service should not be confused with that of a "crisis center", especially in cases where such a center does not offer a "hot line service". See this term.
