Forward curved blade fans. Forward curved blades... are mounted on what is often referred to as a squirrel cage rotor. Fans with these blades produce a high volume for their size, and are lightweight and economical. Because forward curved blades can collect deposits they are only used for handling clean air. Forward curved blade fans are used extensively in small air handling equipment(less than 610 mm diameter). Their efficiency is lower than that of airfoil fans. The scroll is often similar to other centrifugal fan designs, however, the clearance between the impeller and inlet is not as critical as for airfoil or backward inclined blade impellers. 6, record 2, English, - forward%20curved%20blade%20fan

Typical experiments for the Fluid Science Modules are experiments dealing with Marangoni convection or critical point phenomena. For example... Thermocapillary drop motion :... The following process was automated : creation of a linear thermal gradient by heating one wall of the cell and cooling the opposite one; injection of a series of drops in the cell. The drops were from 1 mm to 4 mm in diameter. The motion of the drops was filmed by a video-camera and observed and recorded in real time on the ground. 2, record 5, English, - thermocapillary%20drop%20motion

The second aspect of performance sensitivity is usually distinguished by the name of Propagation Sensitivity, which is a measure of the ability of an explosive to support or reinforce a detonation that has already been created. Since the tendency for the detonation wave to fail or fade increases as the hole diameter is reduced, it has become customary to measure propagation sensitivity by the(minimum) critical diameter of a charge at least six diameters long that will support the detonation process once created. At a point below this value, a detonation wave cannot be consistently propagated, and a misfire... may occur; or otherwise the reaction may be incomplete, resulting in a poor blast effect and significant fume. 1, record 6, English, - propagation%20sensitivity

2, record 6, French, - sensibilit%C3%A9%20%C3%A0%20l%27onde%20explosive
