A process for reducing a magnetized material to a neutral state, that is, to a state when both the magnetic induction B and the magnetic field strength H are equal to zero.(...) The standard demagnetization process involves applying a magnetizing force above a critical value for the material used, and successively reversing H in direction as the value of H is steadily reduced to a value less than those to be used in subsequent experiments. If the final value of H is essentially zero, the specimen is demagnetized. 4, record 1, English, - demagnetization

3, record 1, French, - d%C3%A9magn%C3%A9tisation

Most vinyl roofing membranes are sealed using hot air, which can be compared to welding metal. The process joins two rolls of membranes at the overlap areas(without using another dissimilar material) to create one monolithic layer that covers the entire roof. The heat-welded, permanently fused seams on vinyl roofing membrane form a watertight seal, and their peel strength can be critical to the roof system's long-term performance against wind forces. 3, record 17, English, - monolithic%20layer

ROOF technology allows old roof membrane to be renewed without removal. ROOF technology is based upon a thermochemical treatment of bitumen roof coating. With heat applied to a section of roof coating bitumen and bituminiferous mastics start melting. Imbued with own bitumen, roof coating gains improved waterproofing capabilities. Once cooled such coating becomes a tough monolithic layer, smooth and watertight. 4, record 17, English, - monolithic%20layer

Hot-applied rubberized asphalts consist of proprietary blends of asphalt, mineral fillers, elastomers (natural, synthetic, or a blend of both), virgin or reclaimed oil and a thermoplastic resin. It is applied hot in such a manner as to form an impermeable monolithic membrane over the surface to be waterproofed, which may be concrete, gypsum board or wood. A certain class of ceramic and metallic materials can be manufactured by the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis method. Even though by now this process has included reaction systems of the solid-gas and solid-liquid types, the original work was directed towards the reactions investigated where not only the reactants but also the final products formed in the solid phase. These reactions are therefore generally referred to as gasless, solid-solid or condensed phase combustion reactions. 3, record 28, English, - condensed%2Dphase%20combustion

Condensed phase combustion is a complex phenomenon of theoretical and practical interest, in particular, as a method to synthesize materials. This combustion synthesis process involves a self-sustained combustion wave which propagates through initial reactants converting them into a desired product. In condensed phase combustion the initial reactants as well as final, and possibly intermediate products, remain in the condensed phase throughout the reaction. Though the combustion process occurs in a heterogeneous medium composed of reactive particles, typical models of condensed phase combustion treat the medium as homogeneous. 4, record 28, English, - condensed%2Dphase%20combustion

A subdivision of physical chemistry comprising the study of phenomena characteristic of matter when one or more of its dimensions lie in the range between 1 nanometre and 1 micrometre. The science includes not only finely divided particles but also films, fibers, foams, pores, and surface irregularities. It is the dimension that is critical, rather than the nature of the material. Colloidal particles may be gaseous, liquid, or solid, and occur in various types of suspensions(imprecisely called solutions), e. g., solid/gas(aerosol), solid/solid, liquid/liquid emulsion), gas/liquid(foam). In this size range, the surface area of the particle is so much greater that its volume that unusual phenomena occur; for example, the particles do not settle out of the suspension by gravity, and are small enough to pass through filter membranes. Macromolecules(proteins and other high polymers) are at the lower limit of this range. 2, record 30, English, - colloid%20chemistry

Kaimannflex CC is the optimal solution for particularly critical conditions(high humidity percentage, high delta between i. t. and o. t.). Its excellent water vapour diffusion resistance µ, very low temperature conductivity value lambda, environmental and fire safety requirements make it the ideal insulation for any type of use in both civil and industrial air-conditioning systems... A flow of water vapour that tends to pass through the insulating material is created in air-conditioning systems as a result of the difference in pressure between the piping that is at a low temperature and the one of the surrounding air whose temperature is higher. The greater the water vapour resistance(µ), the longer the insulating material and its requirements last. 2, record 37, English, - water%20vapor%20resistance
