Prebunking is the process of debunking lies, tactics or sources before they strike. Its proponents describe it as a sort of vaccine for the mind that strengthens people's ability to think critically and makes them immune to most misinformation or propaganda. Like with vaccines, it is not necessary to immunize everybody : when prebunking reaches a critical threshold of the susceptible population, a phenomenon similar to herd immunity takes place : immune individuals do not repeat or deny false claims outright, preventing their spread. 2, record 4, English, - prebunking

We present the modification of two ESA [European Space Agency] ground stations carried out in order to support the in-flight RF [Radio Frequency] validation of the Proximity Communication Equipment(PCE), part of the International Space Station(ISS). This subsystem plays a critical role during the docking of the Automated Transfer Vehicle(ATV), and has to be tested prior to each ATV launch, to ensure that the RF performance is as expected. For the check-out, an unmodulated signal is transmitted by the PCE during an ISS pass, and received by the two ground stations. Based on the strength of the received signal, the radiation characteristic of the complete PCE can be assessed, and compared with the nominal performance. The measurement process requires calibrating the receiving subsystem, including antenna, front-end and back-end equipment. The adopted calibration procedure, only relying on radio stars measurement, does not require the use of a calibrated source external to the ground station. 3, record 30, English, - proximity%20communication%20equipment

1, record 31, French, - Direction%20de%20la%20modernisation%20de%20la%20gestion%20des%20ressources%20humaines

Combustion Override Split Production Horizontal Well Process(COSH). The main feature of this process, developed by the Alberta Research Council(ARC), is implementation of gravity drainage using a basal horizontal well in a combustion process. The configuration of different wells is critical to the operation of this process. A linear configuration of vertical air injection wells is drilled and completed in the upper portion of the reservoir. A horizontal oil production well is completed in the bottom of the reservoir, aligned and positioned beneath the vertical injection wells. The reservoir is prepared for ignition and combustion is initiated at each of the injection wells. A hot fluid-transmissive chamber is formed around each of the injection wells as combustion proceeds. Combustion gas communication is established with the gas production wells. Heated oil and water, produced by the combustion front in each hot chamber, drains under the effect of gravity and is brought to the surface through the horizontal production well. 3, record 40, English, - combustion%20override%20split%20production%20horizontal%20well%20process

2, record 40, French, - combustion%20in%20situ%20avec%20puits%20de%20production%20horizontal

... "flash sterilization" is an antiquated term that does not fully describe the various steam sterilization cycles now used to process items not intended to be stored for later use. Current guidelines may require longer exposure times and/or the use of single wrappers or containers designed to allow for aseptic transfer of an item to the point of use. The term “immediate-use steam sterilization” more accurately reflects the current use of these processes. The same critical reprocessing steps(such as cleaning, decontaminating, and transporting sterilized items) must be followed regardless of the specific sterilization cycle employed; a safe process does not include short-cuts or work-arounds. 5, record 46, English, - immediate%2Duse%20steam%20sterilization

Most vinyl roofing membranes are sealed using hot air, which can be compared to welding metal. The process joins two rolls of membranes at the overlap areas(without using another dissimilar material) to create one monolithic layer that covers the entire roof. The heat-welded, permanently fused seams on vinyl roofing membrane form a watertight seal, and their peel strength can be critical to the roof system's long-term performance against wind forces. 3, record 52, English, - monolithic%20layer

ROOF technology allows old roof membrane to be renewed without removal. ROOF technology is based upon a thermochemical treatment of bitumen roof coating. Polishing and planarization are related in that polishing improves the flatness(planarity), smoothness and optical properties of a surface. Planarization, however, is a much more critical process. Integrated circuit(IC) manufacturers must planarize each surface layer of an in-process wafer to make it level for the next application of microlithography. Industry Canada. "The Technology Roadmap(TRM) concept is a consultative process that is designed to help industry, its supply-chain, academic and research groups, and governments come together to jointly identify and prioritize the technologies needed to support strategic R&D, marketing and investment decisions. These technologies will be of critical importance to an industry in the next five to ten years. In developing a TRM, companies within a sector come together in a joint commitment to identify the critical technologies as well as the skills required to properly utilize the technologies of the future. The TRM, there, is a means to achieve a joint decision on future research and development, future skills development, and to establish a commitment to work together to address these challenges. Leadership has been defined in a variety of ways, but most definitions generally refer to it as a behavioral process with the intent of influencing individuals or entire groups toward a set of goals. As it pertains to the contexts of sport and athletics, the concept of leadership can play a critical role in a program's successes or failures. Ultimately, the leadership behaviors of coaches can significantly impact the outcome of a team's performance. 3, record 68, English, - team%20leadership

Synrift (which literally means "at the same time as the rift") sediment would have been the first sediment deposited during the initial formation of the Mako Trough. Synrift sediment, because it would have been due to the initial erosion of the surrounding highs being deposited into the newly formed trough, is often of a coarser nature than later deposits - the sediment is deposited quickly and with less "banging around in a deep sea" to grind it to dust. 2, record 69, English, - syn%2Drift%20sediment

A very precisely engineered air delivery system is used to apply heated process air to the can pack as it goes through the oven. The air must be sufficient enough to plunge into the can and reach the depth of the coating and yet be gentle enough to not tip the very light aluminum can. Online learning support is an integral part of the online learning process in guiding learners and providing feedback(Coomey & Stephenson, 2001; Oliver, 2001). In learner-centred instruction, learners direct and control various aspects of their learning(e. g. learning outcomes, choice of group members), with instructors in the background providing advice and general guidelines on resources and procedures. Various means of online learning support include :-Learning guides(e. g. generic ones on study and research skills or specific guides on how to complete a particular online course).-Online mentors and buddies who facilitate, coach or guide learners through the course.-Online personal learning portfolios(e. g. learners’ journals, personal learning logs) to promote self-reflection(a critical component of learner-centred instruction).-Online public learning portfolios to encourage peer review and feedback on each other's work. 1, record 72, English, - online%20learning%20support

When a semiconductor manufacturer plans new facilities, he must consider the problem of providing sufficient quantities of water that is pure enough for use in the many critical cleaning and rinsing operations of the manufacturing process. Although most production facilities have similar, stringent requirements for high-purity water, their water sources may have widely varying characteristics, depending largely upon geographical location. Because the manufacturer has little or no control over the characteristics of the source water that must be treated to produce his ultrapure processing water, treatment system design demands a thorough knowledge of the purity requirements for a particular operation, and the physical and financial constraints on the proposed installation. 1, record 91, English, - deionized%20water%20equipment

An asphalt distributor will spread a coating of asphalt over the surface, which is followed by a chipspreader placing the layer of rock. This rock is then rolled into place with a roller. This process should take about 20 minutes at any one location. No traffic is allowed on the liquid asphalt, and traffic on the unrolled rock will be limited to critical traffic only. After rolling, the road will be reopened to light, slow moving traffic. There are small surface rocks that will roll off into the gutter. This is also normal, and city crews will sweep up the excess aggregate within 24 to 48 hours. Canada's Program of Technical Cooperation with Russia was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the London G-7 Economic Summit in July 1991. It focuses on training, institution building, and policy advice in sectors which are critical to political and economic reform. It also focuses on supporting the process of reform within Russia, either directly or through strengthening the elements which make reform possible. It operates mostly on a responsive basis, providing funding for projects proposed and developed by Canadian firms, voluntary and other non-government organizations and institutions. 1, record 93, English, - Canada%27s%20Program%20of%20Technical%20Co%2Doperation%20with%20Russia

The shift from a "Women in Development"(WID) discourse to a "Women, Environment and Development"(WED) discourse which took place in the late 1980s and early 1990s, is significant in that it opens up a space for questioning the developmental enterprise itself. It also signals a more critical attitude towards modernity and the modernizing process. 2, record 94, English, - Women%2C%20Environment%20and%20Development

The goal of having an implemented process model of expertise is an interesting constraint for the definition of the subject matter. For a model to be operational, knowledge cannot be merely enunciated and explained : it must be put to work. Thus, all the knowledge critical to the target behavior has to be captured in the model of expertise, including the knowledge required for appropriately using knowledge. The fact that this model must be able to solve the same problems the student will eventually learn to solve ensures that, at some level of epistemic fidelity, it is complete. 3, record 97, English, - process%20model

Given that students using automated learning environments tend to need assistance, another contribution of AI is the design of intelligent coaching systems that enhance the learning process by turning critical experiences into learning opportunities. WEST was the first system in this class. It has contributed the concept of differential modeling and that of teaching via issues and examples, whereby the coach detects the relevance of issues and illustrates them with an appropriate example. In addition, a number of general coaching principles followed in the design of WEST have been outlined. Not least among the system's contributions is its success in a short period of classroom use, which revealed that children both improved their learning and enjoyed being coached. 2, record 98, English, - intelligent%20coaching%20system
