Ecological agriculture, also known as eco-agriculture, is a farming approach that aligns with ecological principles and emphasizes environmental sustainability. While sharing similarities with sustainable agriculture, ecological agriculture places a stronger emphasis on specific technologies and practices... Ecological agriculture integrates ecological processes into agricultural systems to reduce negative environmental impacts and promote sustainable productivity. In contrast to conventional practices that are reliant on synthetic fertilizers and insecticides, ecological agriculture emphasizes working in harmony with nature and utilizing natural inputs and techniques, such as organic fertilizers, crop rotation, agroforestry, biological pest control, and alternative cultivation. 3, record 3, English, - ecological%20agriculture

Crop rotation systems offer numerous advantages in soil structure, fertility and erosion management, as well as aiding in control of various pest species. Crop rotation for pest management consists of a planting pattern alternating susceptible and nonsusceptible crops. The interval necessary between susceptible crops depends upon the length of the pest's life cycle, reproductive potential, degree of specificity, and dispersal characteristics of the target pest. 1, record 8, English, - susceptible%20crop

A new development in mulch technology is the wavelength-selective film. It provides much of the weed control benefit of black plastic mulch, but warms the soil more than does black mulch. Thermic films, such as the IR-303 Thermofilm, were originally developed as greenhouse covers. They are reputed to reduce maximum and increase minimum temperatures slightly more than standard polyethylene films. These thermic films may have a role as hoop-supported row covers (tunnels). In a preliminary trial in 1990, the combination of black mulch and tunnels of either Lutrasil or IR-303 Thermofilm produced greater early yield than either black film or wavelength-selective mulch films alone. 2, record 10, English, - wavelength%20selective%20mulch

Weed control from herbicides applied before the mulch may break down in advance of crop maturity. An alternative to the clear mulch/herbicide system is the IRT or wavelength selective mulch system. IRT mulches provide similar soil warming to clear film, while controlling most weeds like black plastic. 3, record 10, English, - wavelength%20selective%20mulch

Pour ce programme, des cultures de diversion temporaires (sur 169 ha) et quatre points d'appât servent maintenant à réduire la dévastation des récoltes dans ce secteur. Black bug... The insect is common in rainfed and irrigated wetland environments during the vegetative stages of the rice crop. It prefers continuously cropped irrigated rice areas and poorly drained fields. Damages are observed more frequently in dry season rice crops and densely planted fields are preferred... One of the cultural control practices to reduce the population of the black bug is to maintain a clean field by removing the weeds and drying the rice field during plowing.... Mechanical control measures include the use of mercury bulbs as light traps for egg-laying adults. 4, record 20, English, - black%20paddy%20bug

Cultural weed control is the management of the crop to make it more competitive against weeds. Cultural control involves optimizing planting date, seeding rate, row spacing, fertility, irrigation, and the used of adapted varieties so that the crop will be vigorously growing and more competitive with weeds. Generally, the plant that emerges first, establishes rapidly, and closes canopy first, is the most competitive. This plant captures the majority of the environmental resources(i. e. light, water, nutrients) necessary for growth. The aim should be to make vegetable crops as competitive as possible by modifying the appropriate practices. 3, record 27, English, - row%20spacing

Whenever the celery crop has been weakened in any manner, such as by the lack of magnesium, boron or other minor element; too much soluble salt; excessively wet soil; not enough fertilizer; too acid soil; and other influences, this weak pathogen causes spotting on celery stems. The brown or tan spot is irregular in shape, shallow in depth, and is present either on the outside or inside of the stem, on the petioles, and slightly on the leaflets.... When the spots enlarge until they unite, the combined lesion may extend almost the entire length of the stalk.(Charles Chupp, Vegetable Diseases and Their Control, 1960, p. 212). 2, record 33, English, - brown%20spot
