The Crop Insurance Division administers legislation under which financial contributions are made to provinces to assist them in making all-risk crop insurance available to farmers. Provincial programs may vary with respect to specific features, but their objectives are similar : to stabilize the annual income of farmers by minimizing the fluctuations resulting from crop production losses due to unavoidable natural hazards. Crop insurance is available to farmers in all 10 provinces and most major crops are covered.

La Division de l'assurance-récolte veille à l'application de la loi qui prévoit le versement de contributions aux provinces pour leur permettre d'offrir une assurance-récolte tous risques à leurs producteurs. Les programmes provinciaux peuvent différer à certains égards, mais ils ont tous été créés dans le même but : stabiliser le revenu annuel des producteurs en limitant les variations qui pourraient résulter de la destruction de récoltes par des phénomènes naturels. L'assurance-récolte est offerte dans toutes les provinces et couvre la plupart des grandes cultures.
