Another important subject within computer vision is image segmentation. It is the process of dividing an image into different regions based on the characteristics of pixels to identify objects or boundaries to simplify an image and more efficiently analyze it. Segmentation impacts a number of domains, from the filmmaking industry to the field of medicine. For instance, the software behind green screens implements image segmentation to crop out the foreground and place it on a background for scenes that cannot be shot or would be dangerous to shoot in real life 2, record 2, English, - image%20segmentation

1, record 2, French, - segmentation%20d%27images

Host : Chinch bugs attack a variety of forage, lawn, and wild grasses. The principal crop plants damaged are wheat, corn, sorghum, oats, etc. Symptoms : The chinch bug pierces the plant with its moth parts and sucks out the plant sap. This feeding prevents normal growth and results in dwarfing, lodging, and yield reduction. Severe infestations during early development may cause plants to wilt and die prematurely. Most injury is caused by the six nymphal instars. 3, record 8, English, - chinch%20bug

The primary goal of MCDC is the investigation and demonstration of economically and environmentally sustainable crop production. This includes crop diversification and intensive crop production technology practices such as irrigation, and facilitating development of value added processing of Manitoba grown crops. This is accomplished by bringing together partnerships with the appropriate expertise and the provision of suitable land and facilities. Much of the Centre's work is carried out in co-operation with outside agencies, groups and individuals. Mini-sprayer. The SPOT-SPITTER, a mini-sprayer for nursery and greenhouse applications, is an easy-to-use, low-cost horticultural product and is available in a variety of wetting patterns and flow rates. 3, record 15, English, - spitter
Record number: 15, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Microsprayers, also called mini-sprinklers or spitters, are similar in principle to drip systems in that water is applied only to a fraction of the ground surface. However, instead of dripping water from narrow-orifice emitters, microsprayer systems eject fine jets that fan out from a series of nozzles. Each nozzle can water an area of several square metres, which tends to be much larger than the individual areas wetted by single drip emitters. Microsprayers can thus help to enlarge the volume of soil available for the uptake of water and nutrients by crop roots(thereby obviating the need for multiple drippers). Enlarging the wetted volume is especially important for large trees. 2, record 15, English, - spitter

2, record 15, French, - spitter

The responsible officials will then carry out the DUS tests appropriate to the crop which are essentially tests of :(1) distinctness... ;(2) uniformity... ;(3) stability... The observations made to determine distinctness and uniformity involve very minute descriptions of the variety but, in the limit, description may not suffice, so side-by-side comparison of growing plants is sometimes necessary. 1, record 25, English, - tests%20for%20distinctness%2C%20uniformity%20and%20stability

The calcareous deposits that crop out in circular pattern around the Adrar des Iforas present a cuesta landscape; the structural limestone surfaces of the Danian and Ypresian beds crop out as wide plateaus bordered by abrupt cliffs. The surface of these plateaus is sculptured by erosion into a kind of lapies, which was called "Terrecht"(stone sponge) in the Tamashek language. 1, record 28, English, - stone%20sponge
