Ecological agriculture, also known as eco-agriculture, is a farming approach that aligns with ecological principles and emphasizes environmental sustainability. While sharing similarities with sustainable agriculture, ecological agriculture places a stronger emphasis on specific technologies and practices... Ecological agriculture integrates ecological processes into agricultural systems to reduce negative environmental impacts and promote sustainable productivity. In contrast to conventional practices that are reliant on synthetic fertilizers and insecticides, ecological agriculture emphasizes working in harmony with nature and utilizing natural inputs and techniques, such as organic fertilizers, crop rotation, agroforestry, biological pest control, and alternative cultivation. 3, record 1, English, - ecological%20agriculture

Under the Agreement, EU [European Union] oilseed plantings(rapeseed, sunflowerseed and soybeans) for food purposes are limited to an adjusted maximum guaranteed area(MGA) for producers benefitting from crop specific oilseeds payments. Crops grow reasonably well with widely different amounts of water in the atmosphere but when the air immediately surrounding the leaves becomes too dry, growth will be checked. If there is an adequate amount of water in the soil, supplied either by rain or irrigation, the plants can ordinarily absorb and transpire enough water to maintain a moderately moist atmosphere around the leaves, but when soil moisture is deficient and the evaporating power of the air is high, water will be lost from the leaves faster than it can be obtained from the soil and the plant will wilt and be unable to grow efficiently. Thus, the dryness of the air as well as the dryness of the soil is likely to limit crop production. 1, record 13, English, - evaporating%20power%20of%20the%20air

The only factors affecting ETo are climatic parameters. Consequently, ETo is a climatic parameter and can be computed from weather data. Guide samples are prepared by senior inspectors to serve as comparative samples for interpreting abnormal grading factors present in a particular crop year, usually to reflect damage to grain from a specific area or to reflect a single grading factor. Senior inspectors also review samples of all types of shipments to ensure the accuracy of grain inspections. Each inspection point must maintain grade average samples and submit them periodically to head office for review. Any deviation from normal patterns is investigated, which may involve chemical analysis in the Grain Research Laboratory. 1, record 14, English, - guide%20and%20average%20samples

1, record 14, French, - %C3%A9chantillons%20t%C3%A9moins%20et%20%C3%A9chantillons%20moyens

Generally speaking, quota levels begin relatively low at the start of a crop year after the new crop has been harvested and then increase as additional supplies are needed to replenish terminal elevator stocks or meet sales commitments. Depending on market requirements, quotas may be confined to specific grades of particular grains. They also may only remain in effect for a specific period of time. Suivant les besoins du marché, les contingents peuvent être limités à certains grades de céréales. Ils peuvent n'être en vigueur que pour une période donnée. The Crop Insurance Division administers legislation under which financial contributions are made to provinces to assist them in making all-risk crop insurance available to farmers. Provincial programs may vary with respect to specific features, but their objectives are similar : to stabilize the annual income of farmers by minimizing the fluctuations resulting from crop production losses due to unavoidable natural hazards. Crop insurance is available to farmers in all 10 provinces and most major crops are covered. 1, record 17, English, - Crop%20Insurance%20Division

It should be emphasized that the integration of herbicides into the crop protection program or system needs careful consideration. Main factors to be considered are the rotation sequence, the most common weed or complexes of weeds in the field, and their density and duration. Effort should be made in choosing and matching the particular herbicide(s) with the specific weed species or complexes of weeds present, the geographic location, and edaphic and environmental conditions. Many combinations of herbicides result in either additive or synergistic effects on weeds. The activity of soil-acting herbicides depends on such factors as persistence, absorption properties of the soil, soil organic matter, soil types, soil moisture, and cultivation. Herbicide rates may need to be adjusted on the basis of soil texture and type. As well as effects of soil on the performance of herbicides, there are converse effects of the herbicides on soil properties.... 2, record 20, English, - integrated%20weed%20management
