Crop-yield weather modelling refers to the techniques [that] can be used operationally to determine the likely effect of weather on yields. Although the incidence of weather conditions on yields is well established, its quantitative assessment is not always straightforward : time series analyses of agricultural statistics show that inter-annual variability... of crop yields can be roughly subdivided into [three] components :(i) trend,(ii) direct weather factors[, ] and(iii) indirect weather effects, pests, diseases, weed competition, etc.

Crop profiles are a compilation of all of the information about a crop, including statistics on production in Canada versus the world market, marketing information, production practices and pest problems related to weeds, diseases and insects. Crop profiles also outline the current pest management practices for a crop and identify where gaps exist.

Crop profiles are prepared by the responsibles of the Pesticide Risk Reduction Program and the Pest Management Centre for all the fruit and vegetable producers of all kinds.
