The surface of the grinding rolls may be either corrugated or smooth. Break rolls are always corrugated with the grooves running in a spiral along the length of the roll. When the rolls are turning, the corrugations cross each other and this imparts a cutting and shearing action to the material between them. The slower roll tends to hold the stock(whole or partly broken kernels), while the faster roll scrapes endosperm from it. The number of corrugations increases with successive breaking stages. The rolls used for breaking the wheat, that is the first break rolls, have 4 to 5 corrugations per centimetre of roll circumference whereas the last break passage may be 11 to 12 corrugations per centimetre. 1, record 1, English, - corrugated

bond. The union or tie of the several stones or bricks forming a wall. The bricks may be arranged for this purpose in several different ways, as in English or block bond, where one course consists of bricks with their ends toward the face of the wall, called headers, and the next course of bricks with their lengths parallel to the face of the wall, called stretchers; Flemish bond, where each course consists of headers and stretchers alternately, so laid as always to break joints; Cross bond, which differs from the English by the change of the second stretcher line so that its joints come in the middle of the first, and the same position of stretchers comes back every fifth line; Combined cross and English bond, where the inner part of the wall is laid in the one method, the outer in the other. 2, record 2, English, - bonding

The "Sagittarius arm" is rearer the center than the sun's distance.(...). Hydrogen emission is very strong from Sagittarius through Scorpius and into Norma. From there to the Southern Cross it is weak, suggesting a break in the spiral structure. The arm goes on with some interruptions through Carina and Canis Major to Monoceros. 1, record 3, English, - Sagittarius%20arm

1, record 3, French, - bras%20de%20Sagittaire
