A Möbius strip has a boundary which is a simple closed curve. It can be deformed into a circle, although in the process the strip must be allowed to intersect itself... The surface which results is a nonorientable surface called a cross-cap. It can be described as a hemisphere which has been pinched together along a short vertical line starting at the pole; the surface then appears to intersect along this line and the line is to be regarded as two lines, each belonging to one of the two parts of the surface which cross along the line. 3, record 2, English, - cross%2Dcap

By the arithmetic slope of the indifference curve, we mean this : To find the slope of the curve at, say, point B, take a ruler and place it so that it is just tangent to the curve at B--it touches the curve, but does not cross it either above or below B. Mark the points at which the ruler's edge crosses the two axes. The slope is the ratio of the distance cut off on the vertical axis to the distance cut off on the horizontal axis. 1, record 8, English, - arithmetic%20slope%20of%20the%20indifference%20curve
