Parallel-group trials allocate each participant to a single intervention for comparison with one or more alternative interventions. In contrast, crossover trials allocate each participant to a sequence of interventions. A simple randomized crossover design is an "AB/BA" design in which participants are randomized initially to intervention A or intervention B, and then "cross over" to intervention B or intervention A, respectively. 5, record 1, English, - crossover%20clinical%20trial

Squirrels mainly travel between the tree crowns. Wherever trees are too far apart, as is the case around roads, they venture onto the ground. As six roads cross through the Gijsbrecht van Aemstelpark, squirrels would end up as road kill victims. To put an end to this situation, six squirrel bridges were created in 2012. In places where several squirrels had been run over, rope bridges were created to give squirrels safe passage between the tree crowns on either side of the lane. 2, record 3, English, - squirrel%20bridge

In the Rhône delta it blows also from the south. The marin is associated with depressions that cross southern France or northern Spain and the Gulf of Lions. Generally, it is strong and regular, sometimes violent and turbulent in hilly country as the ayalas in the Massif Central; it is very humid, cloudy with hill fog, and often rainy(unless unaccompanied by fronts, when it is the marin blanc). The heavy rains, which may continue for one or two days on the mountain slopes, cause dangerous river floods. On the western slope of the Cévennes it becomes the autan. In the southern Cévennes the marin is called the aygalas. On the coast of Catalonia(northeast Spain) and Roussillon(southern France) it is the marinada and generally occurs with a depression centered over or south of the Gulf of Gascony. 2, record 39, English, - marin

Optical burst switching is a promising hybrid approach between coarse grain optical circuit switching and fine grain optical packet switching. The benefit of optical burst switching(OBS) over conventional circuit switching is that there is no need to dedicate a wavelength for each end to end connection. In addition, optical burst switching is more viable than optical packet switching as the burst data does not need to be buffered or processed at the cross connect. This allows the strengths of optical switching technologies to be leveraged effectively and the problem of buffering in the optical domain to be circumvented. 2, record 42, English, - optical%20burst%20switching

We have seen a number of name changes over the last 60 years as the words Blue Cross were becoming synonymous worldwide with quality health care coverage. We were founded as the Maritime Hospital Service Association in 1943 and became known as the Maritime Blue Cross-Blue Shield Association in 1954. We became Blue Cross of Atlantic Canada in 1986 and, when joined with Maritime Medical Care in 1999, the trade name Atlantic Blue Cross Care was adopted. Our expansion into the Quebec and Ontario markets led to the need for a new name that would encompass all three regions. We created the name "Medavie" because it decribes our business and works well in both our English and French markets. Medavie is derived from the English and French words for "medical" and "to life". We offer everything from medical to life insurance. 1, record 44, English, - Medavie%20Blue%20Cross

1, record 49, French, - descendance%20h%C3%A9t%C3%A9rozygote

In the graphical approach [to separation of gravity anomalies], the regional effect must be estimated from plotted profile or contour maps of observed gravity; regional contours are interpolated more or less arbitrarily, being superimposed over the original gravity field.(...) Where the contours at a distance from a local anomaly are quite regular, it is possible to take out the regional trend by drawing lines which connect the undisturbed contours outside the area within which the anomaly is confined(...). Where the smoothed contours cross contours of observed gravity, the differences between the two, which have discrete values at each intersection, are marked and themselves contoured. The resulting map gives residual gravity. 2, record 67, English, - smoothed%20contours%20technique
