Many crude vegetable oils contain large amounts of phosphatides or "break" material. This material is very similar to the parent triglyceride except that one of the fatty acid chains has been replaced by a compound of phosphorus. The phosphatides precipitate as a gelatinous mass when the oil is heated to 260°C to 300°C.... In such a test, the oil is carefully heated in a test tube; if any break is present, the oil clouds at about 260°C and within 5° to 25°C the break will have separated. Also, at the temperature of incipient break, the oil will bleach, the extent of heat-bleach(as well as the amount of break) giving a good indication as to the quality of the oil. 2, record 3, English, - heat%20test

Penicillin acylase from E. coli is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry for the mild hydrolysis of penicillin G, obtained by fermentation. The product, 6-aminopenicillanic acid(6-APA), is the starting material in the production of new, semisynthetic penicillins. Usually, crude penicillin acylase preparations are employed(either bound to insoluble matrices, or as soluble enzyme). This is the reason why few purification to homogeneity procedures have been described so far, and why little is known about acylase physico-chemical characteristics. 3, record 14, English, - semisynthetic

Air-Rectification of Refinery Bitumen : Bitumen produced by straight steam-refining from certain crude oils may be deficient in the components of very high molecular weight which are insoluble in heptane, the "asphaltene" fraction... It is the common practice of bitumen producers in the United Kingdom to increase the asphaltene content of low-asphaltene material by oxidation of the hot straight-run bitumen by a current of air blown through it. This process must not be confused with that used to produce the so-called "blown" grades of bitumen. 1, record 16, English, - air%2Drectification

Large amounts of unsold bread, doughnuts, cakes and other pastries are available in some areas and are excellent energy sources for ruminant rations. They are usually high in fat and low in crude fibre. Protein levels(on a dry-matter basis) in the range of 10-12% are typical. The low fibre content of the baked material and the baking process itself result in a feed which tends to stimulate ruminal propionate and reduce ruminal acetate production. This is desirable for feedlot livestock being fattened for market. 2, record 17, English, - bakery%20waste
