CRUISE DATA [8 records]

Record 1 2017-11-01

English

Subject field(s)
  • Aeroindustry
CONT

The program memory contains flight profile data for a variety of situation modes, such as take-off, climb, cruise, descent, holding, go-around and engine out; the cruise mode is also subdivided into sub-mode variants, such as economy, long-range, manual and thrust-limited.

CONT

CONT

The Lear Siegler Performance Data Computer System(which incorporates an autothrottle/speed control computer developed by Smiths Industries of the UK) was evolved in collaboration with Boeing for use on B. 737 and 727 aircraft. The display/control unit screen shown here indicates the automatically-regulated EPR setting for an economy cruise regime under prevailing conditions.

CONT

CONT

The cruise phase of flight(above 3000 ft) is calculated based on the BADA [(Base of Aircraft Data) ] fuel-use characteristics of the plane and the flight path length of the movement.

OBS

cruise phase of flight: term standardized by Environment Canada and the Translation Bureau for use in the National Inventory Report.

CONT

OBS

The IOC Cruise Summary Report is a general purpose form for reporting on measurements and samples collected at sea. It is used to support a global, first level, inventory of data collected at sea and to provide ready access for scientists, programme managers on who has collected what, where and when.

OBS

ROSCOP(Report of Observations/Samples collected by Oceanographic Programmes) was conceived by IOC in the late 1960s in order to provide a low level inventory for tracking oceanographic data collected on Research Vessels etc. The ROSCOP form was extensively revised in 1990, and was re-named the CSR(Cruise Summary Report), but the name ROSCOP still persists because of its love-hate relationship with many marine scientists.

Subject field(s)
  • General Vocabulary
CONT

«Combat persistence» as used here means the number of steady-state turns that can be accomplished at the flight condition of altitude and Mach number. These data assume the aircraft to be full of fuel at the initiation of combat. Again, one sees that the larger number of turns is achieved at speeds near the cruise speed; the airframe is efficient near cruise speed. The engines were specifically designed and chosen to match this point of airframe efficiency. Further the speed at which sufficient combat persistence is obtained for a "sensible" fight(allowing at least three turns) lie below Mach 1.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Vocabulaire général
CONT
