Surface cracking due to oxidation and shrinkage stresses, which shows as repetitive mounding of an asphalt surface, resembling the hide of an alligator. 2, record 1, English, - alligatoring
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Although heat is also a factor in the deterioration of asphalt on a roof, the real source of decay is the energy carried by the ultra-violet(UV) light of the sun, combined with the ready supply of oxygen in ozone. The "links" in asphalt molecular chains are hydrogen. The molecular bond is overcome by the strong attraction of the oxygen, which pulls the hydrogen away from the asphalt molecules. This process is called photo-oxidation, and these breaks in the "aliphatic" chain results in the shrinkage cracking common to asphalt. This phenomenon is commonly called "alligatoring" in roofing parlance, a term which describes the similarity of aged asphalt surfaces to an alligator's back. 3, record 1, English, - alligatoring

DAF(decay accelerating factor) is expressed on erythrocytes and epithelial cells and inhibits the assembly on membranes of the classical pathway convertase and also accelerates its decay. Deficiency in DAF is associated with the disease paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria in which autologous erythrocytes become remarkably susceptible to lysis by complement. 1, record 2, English, - decay%20accelerating%20factor

1, record 2, French, - prot%C3%A9ine%20membranaire%20DAF

Decay accelerating factor(DAF) and CR1 inhibit the association between C3b and B, and promote dissociation of the C3bBb complex.
