Rate gyro : Principles of Operation. The Crossbow DMU [dynamic measurement unit] contains three accelerometers and three angular rate gyros. The three angular rate gyros use vibrating piezoelectric ceramic transducers to measure the Coriolis acceleration. In the 1830's G. G. de Coriolis discovered that an object moving perpendicular to a rotating frame will cause an observer on the rotating frame to see an apparent acceleration of the object. 1, record 1, English, - vibrating%20piezoelectric%20ceramic%20transducer

2, record 1, French, - transducteur%20vibrant%20%C3%A0%20c%C3%A9ramique%20pi%C3%A9zo%C3%A9lectrique
