3, record 3, French, - m%C3%A9thode%20des%20prix%20h%C3%A9donistes

These reductions are over-and-above the reductions in grants and contributions announced in the April 1993 budget. La plupart des subventions offertes aux entreprises par d'autres ministères seront réduites d'encore 5 pour cent par rapport aux niveaux établis dans le budget d'avril 1993, ce qui touchera également certains avantages prévus par la loi. Ski slopestyle makes its Olympic debut in 2014. Slopestyle athletes make their way down, through and over a course comprised of a variety of obstacles including rails, jumps and other terrain park features — scoring points for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks. The discipline has its roots in action sports like skateboarding and BMX biking and has very successfully crossed over into the snow sports worlds of skiing and snowboard. Slopestyle is one of the most accessible snow sports, as virtually every ski resort has a terrain park where aspiring athletes can learn to jump, slide and jib. 3, record 22, English, - ski%20slopestyle

In slopestyle, riders go down a course comprised of various obstacles such as hips, jumps, rails, and boxes. Judges evaluate the runs for their overall composition, including the sequence, difficulty, style and execution of the tricks, the amount of risk in the routine(including the amplitude achieved) and how the rider uses the course. During each phase of competition, each rider does two runs but only the highest-scoring one counts towards the results. 2, record 23, English, - snowboard%20slopestyle

Research is on hairpin catalytic RNA, a catalytic RNA discovered and characterized here in my laboratory at Northern Illinois University. Hairpin catalytic RNA is a molecule which can be engineered to very efficiently cleave target RNA sequences in a unique and efficient reaction. The catalytic RNA can thus be used for the specific down regulation of gene expression since it can be designed to destroy mRNA. Current applications being developed are down regulation of selected genes, including those in the virus HIV-1. Thus it has potential as an AIDS therapeutic. 1, record 27, English, - catalytic%20RNA

The format of what would become the Shearwater International Air Show or SIAS began to crystallize in 1981. Obviously, it could not compete with bigger shows playing to larger population centres. So, if the biggest was not possible, SIAS aimed to be the best. The show's search for excellence was rewarded by many successes; air displays equaling any in the country and over 75 different static aircraft from as many as seven countries. In addition, over 80 high-quality ground exhibits were displayed, including such as an Iraqi Scud missile and the weapon which brought it down, the US Army's Patriot System. Efforts to raise the Nova Scotia International Air Show(NSIAS) from the ashes were unsuccessful in 1996, but a few dedicated believers took on the task to try again for 1997 and were more than rewarded for their efforts. NSIAS 97 was a co-production of the three levels of government, the private sector and the military in the Atlantic Region. A lot of hard work, negotiations and good will produced a first class show that had all the trade marks of past SIAS events and then some. With a superb two-day attendance and an overall economic impact exceeding 14 million dollars, Shearwater and Nova Scotia were clearly on the air show map. 1, record 34, English, - Nova%20Scotia%20International%20Air%20Show

The... ice laboratory is a versatile ice modelling facility which has been used to study numerous ice related problems. The staff has developed international recognition for their work in modelling ice and ice problems. The temperature inside the chamber can be varied down to-20°C. It houses a concrete tank which is 21 m long by 7 m wide by 1. 1 m deep. Ice up to 0. 6 m thick can be grown in this tank. The ice tank is used for many types of studies, including model tests of ice-structure interaction using model ice. The tank can accommodate a wave machine, producing a wave climate in different ice regimes. Recently, the tank has also been used to investigate the effects of ice scouring seabed material. 3, record 37, English, - ice%2Dstructure%20interaction%20using%20model%20ice

The Pioneer drone(developed by the Israelis and produced in the U. S.) has a wingspan of 17 feet and is 14 feet long. It is powered by a 26 horsepower snowmobile engine and has a range of about 100 miles and a flight duration of five hours. It can carry a multitude of sensors including television and FLIR. The drone is catapulted into the air and while airborne runs on liquid fuel. It is guided by an electronic box with a joystick that the operator uses to turn the plane left or right, up or down in the same way remote-controlled model planes work. Each Pioneer costs about $500, 000 and carries a $400, 000 video camera that can take highly-detailed pictures from 2, 000 feet and transmit them 100 miles away. 2, record 49, English, - Pioneer%20drone

The better brushcutters have a design whereby the accessories, such as brush blades, tri-cut blades, tring trimmer heads, and others, fit FLUSH against the gear housing, leaving no gap whatsoever where weeds can get wedged. This is an excellent design, and one to look for... Now HERE's something that really works. Called by various names, this tri-cut blade will cut through tough, woody plants with ease, including mountain laurel and rhododendron. If your brushcutter is powerful, it will also cut down fairly large tree saplings. These blades are made from steel, and can be resharpened when dull. 2, record 52, English, - brush%20blade

Mobile work platforms come in various shapes, sizes, and price categories, including lightweight, one-man push-around models; manually propelled or towable scissors-type units; and large, self-propelled booms that reach out 80 ft or more. The sliding-frame elevating platform is the simplest, most economical version of a one-man push-around towable unit. It consists of a railed platform affixed to a frame that slides up or down on a vertical mast set on a mobile base. The platform can be raised or lowered mechanically by a hand crank winch and cable suspension system. Or, the units can be powered up and down hydraulically or by compressed air. Power sources can be AC or DC electric motors or plant air. 1, record 55, English, - push%2Daround
