Exercise Advice : Place a barbell under your chin, resting it securely across the tops of your shoulders. Hold the barbell in place with your hands with elbows elevated so that [they] are parallel to the floor. Your feet should be just beyond shoulder width apart. Begin this exercise by squatting as though you are going to sit down in a chair. Squat to a point to where your thighs become parallel to the floor and then return to the start position. It is very important that you keep your back as straight as possible throughout this movement(one way to help do this is to focus your eyes on a spot high on the wall in front of you throughout the entire exercise). 1, record 1, English, - front%20barbell%20squat

When hard braking is applied for slowing down or stopping after an aborted takeoff or emergency stop situation, the tire is locked up and can’t rotate, causing rapid heat buildup. When the tire begins to smoke, rubber debris build up under the tire. As the skid continues, more and more debris cause a barrier to form against the water, preventing it from escaping past the tire. A seal has now been created... heating the water under the tire to a point where steam exists. The steam is strong enough to support the tire and prevent runway contact. Rules : There are 3 teams, each with a different color jersey.... There are 4 players on each team... The players on the defensive teams form a square around the ball. This same square constantly follows all the movements of the ball. Each player is responsible for a corner of the square and is situated about 10-12 feet from the ball. The ball starts in the middle and one team sets up a serve. The serving formation is as follows; 2-4 players kneel down facing each other with heads down and arms outstretched. The ball is placed on their outstretched arms. The server approaches the ball and says "Omnikin" and another color(example : Omnikin Red!) before striking the ball with the fist in an upward motion. When the color is announced and the ball is in the air, the corresponding team must catch the ball before it hits the ground. If successful, that team sets up the serve immediately. If the team does not catch the ball before it touches the ground, then one point is awarded to each of the other teams on the court and that same team serves the ball. 3, record 16, English, - Kin%2DBall%C2%AE%20sport

A sewage pump is an essential component of any waste processing system. While most plumbing systems rely on gravity to bring the waste material down to the sewer level to be processed, occasionally the sewage line is on higher ground than where the waste is originating from. In these cases, a sewage lift pump must be used to counter the effects of gravity and transport the waste matter to its destination.... A sewage lift pump, the primary component of a sewage lift system, is essentially a large tank in which waste water and material collect. Within the tank is a float device which raises and lowers depending on the level of waste in the tank at any given point in time. When the tank fills with waste matter and the float rises to a certain point within it, the sewage lift pump activates. The lift pump essentially forces the waste water and material up through a series of pipes to the sewer or septic lines where it will continue to be processed. As the lift pump moves more material from the tank, the float will begin to lower. Once it reaches a certain point towards the bottom of the tank, it will trigger the lift pump to shut off. All sewage lift pumps also have a built-in alarm that will sound if the float fails to operate correctly. 3, record 23, English, - sewage%20lift%20pump

A city of the Yukon Territory and its capital since 1953, located at kilometre 1476, just off the Alaska Highway. The city lies mainly on the western side of the Yukon River, nestled in a protected valley surrounded by Canyon Mountain(locally known as Grey Mountain) to the east, Haeckel Hill to the northwest and Golden Horn Mountain to the south. Located at the head of navigation on the Yukon River, Whitehorse grew significantly by becoming a temporary stopping point--past two major obstacles on the river, Miles Canyon and the Whitehorse Rapids--for prospectors heading for Dawson(then known as "Dawson City") during the Klondike Gold Rush Years(1897-1899). In 1900, with the completion of the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway from Skagway in Alaska, to Carcross and Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, the community grew around the point where the railway and river met, on the western side of the Yukon River. After the gold rush, Whitehorse's population dropped, but with the help of navigation and aviation companies, the British Yukon Navigation Company building riverboats and operating them to Dawson until 1954, and the British Yukon Aviation Company transporting mail, freight and passengers, the economy was kept afloat. During World War II, Whitehorse played a significant role as a key link in the north-south transportation system, hosting the Americans and Canadians in charge of expanding the air link that was the Northwest Staging Route(a series of airfields across the Northwest), building the 2300-km Alaska Highway, or constructing the Canol Pipeline from Norman Wells, N. W. T., and an oil refinery at Whitehorse. In 1950, Whitehorse was incorporated as a city. In 1953, the territorial capital of the Yukon was moved from Dawson to Whitehorse, adding the government sector to an economy made of the mining(copper, silver and lead-zinc), tourist and oil industries. Though the mines shut down in Yukon and the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway ended its operations 2, record 27, English, - Whitehorse

Ski jump. A skier changes positions several times during a jump. The jumper enters a crouched(or tuck) position down an inrun, springs outward and upward upon takeoff, leans forward throughout flight to maintain lift, bends the hips and knees and places one foot in front of the other into a telemark position for landing, and then straightens up and slows down throughout the outrun. The range of possible landing positions is marked by three points(norm, table, and K, or critical) on the landing hill. The norm point and the table point indicate the beginning and ending, respectively, of the normal landing area, while the K-point marks the last safe landing spot on that hill. 3, record 34, English, - table%20point

The fire extinguishing equipment for an airliner such as the Douglas DC-10 incorporates three systems with six pressurized agent containers, two for each engine. The containers for the wing-mounted engines are located in pairs in the leading edge of the wing between the nacelle and the fuselage on each side of the aircraft.... The discharge cartridge is an electrically fired explosive unit that provides force to rupture the disk seal in the outlet port of the container and release the extinguishing agent to the deployment lines. One discharge cartridge is installed on each wing-mounted container and two are installed on the aft-engine container. The discharge cartridge contains two squibs(explosive charges) that are fired by an electric circuit that heats the powder to the ignition point. When the fire extinguisher control handle is pulled down, the electric circuit is closed and the squibs are fired. The force of the explosion ruptures the disk seal, thus releasing the extinguishing agent. A screen in the discharge head prevents particles of the disk from entering the deployment line. 2, record 35, English, - fire%20control%20handle

With the absence of closed recycling loops in streams, one mechanism for controlling nutrient and energy losses via hydrologic transport is through regulation of outflow losses by stream biota. Nutrients and energy are released at one point in a stream become available as resources(i. e. stabilized inputs) at points further down the topographic gradient. Thus, resources are successfully "spiraled" down the stream rather than "recycled" in place.... thus, it can be hypothesized that streams are "spiralling" or cascading systems in which the retention time and efficiency of resources utilization are maximized through control by specialized functional groups down the stream continuum. 3, record 40, English, - spiral

There are three ways to tell whether gaffs are sharpened properly. Step 1 : Three ways to maintain climbers : 1. 1. Gauging. This method checks the gaff's length, width, and thickness and the profile of its point.... 1. 2. Plane test. This method may be used with the gauge or independently if the gaffs are sharpened by machine. The test is made by using a soft board to tell whether proper sharpness has been reached. Place the climber with the gaff side down and parallel to the board without applying downward pressure above the gaff. Push the climber along the board. If the gaff is properly contoured and sharpened, it will dig into the wood and hold within approximately one inch. If the climber continues to glide along the board for more than one inch, it needs more honing. 1. 3. Pole cutout. After the climbers have been machine sharpened or gauged(and as often as required thereafter), the gaffs may be tested on a pole. 1, record 46, English, - plane%20test

External forces on the ISS [International Space Station] during flight in low-Earth orbit require attitude adjustments using the control functions(effectors)... These forces act on the Station to produce torques that are dependent on the seasons, diurnal(daily) phase, and the solar cycle. To counter these forces the Control Moment Gyros and Gyrodynes are used to rotate the ISS in the opposite directions, until the momentum stored in these gyros reaches a maximum, or saturation. At this point, the gyros must be desaturated, or spun down, by firing the thrusters in the opposite direction. Desaturation takes valuable propulsion fuel and is programmed for a minimum of use. 1, record 50, English, - desaturation

2, record 50, French, - d%C3%A9saturation

1, record 54, English, - saturation

1, record 54, French, - saturation%20des%20gyros

There are tow types of matrix multiplication : scalar-by-matrix multiplication and matrix-by-matrix multiplication. As a noun, a scalar is a single number or scale factor that all the matrix elements are multiplied by in scalar multiplication. This is used to scale down all the elements of a matrix in equal proportion. In graphics, this is used on row and column vectors that represent points in space. It moves a point radially toward or away from the origin(0, 0, 0). This is often done to put the values of x, y, and z within a range that graphics routines can more easily handle, especially when integer arithmetic is being performed. 1, record 55, English, - scalar%2Dby%2Dmatrix%20multiplication

This is one of the six modules of PWGSC' s [Public Works and Government Services Canada] Common Departmental Financial System(CDFS). The budget portion of the Budget and Forecasting Module allows input of financial, full time equivalent, or statistical data, either by keyboard or by an upload of an ASCII file. This data can be input as one amount or spread by period(month, quarter, etc.). This portion of the Module allows users to identify budget transfers as temporary or permanent. It also provides for a budget entry at the lowest level, that will reference a client defined control point and distribute the budget amounts down from the reference point to the lowest level respecting the allotment controls that are in place in the Financial Control Table(allotment data). The forecast portion of the Module allows for the input of financial, full time equivalent, or statistical data, by keyboard or an upload.
