ELECTRON DRIFT [5 records]

Record 1 2011-05-31

English

Subject field(s)
  • Analytical Chemistry
DEF

A slow non-random change of value of the observed quantity with times.

PHR

Drift velocity.

PHR

Electron drift.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie analytique
CONT

[La] dérive [est] souvent occasionnée par la variation de la température, la variation de la composition de la phase éluante et l'usure de la source lumineuse [...]

Record 2 2011-04-14

English

Subject field(s)
  • Nuclear Physics
DEF

The average velocity that a particle, such as an electron, attains due to an electric field.

CONT

Usually, the electron drift velocity in a material is directly proportional to the electric field, which means that the electron mobility is a constant(independent of electric field).

French

Domaine(s)
  • Physique nucléaire
DEF

Vitesse moyenne atteinte par une particule, telle qu’un électron, par l’intermédiaire d’un champ électrique.

Record 3 2000-04-01

English

Subject field(s)
  • Electronics
CONT

Each drift cell contains eight sense wires. The surface field on these controls the gas gain of the signal, and the drift field controls the velocity and direction of electron drift.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Électronique

Record 4 1996-05-10

English

Subject field(s)
  • Analytical Chemistry
CONT

Shahin and Lipsky postulated that at low field strengths permanent gases were ionized by one of two mechanisms, the first involving changes in electron drift velocity caused by the addition of complex molecules to argon; the second resulting from collisions with metastable argon atoms and a fixed gas atom which yield complex ions...

OBS

Collision as associated to ionization.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie analytique
OBS

Le terme collision est associé au processus d'ionisation.

Record 5 1993-09-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Energy Transformation
  • Thermonuclear fusion
  • Atomic Physics
DEF

Instability which can arise when an electric current is fed through a plasma with a helical density distribution immersed in a magnetic field. This will give rise to screw-shaped ion and electron clouds which move in opposite directions along the field lines and produce a charge separation. This in turn generates transverse drift motions, electric fields and growing disturbances.

OBS

Terms standardized by ISO.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Transformation de l'énergie
  • Fusion thermonucléaire
  • Physique atomique
DEF

OBS

Termes normalisés par l'ISO.
