... the Canadian Armed Forces are acquiring and fielding a three-tiered detection system to be used at the personal, local and area levels. In addition to detecting chemical substances, these [detectors] will be able to autonomously report warnings into current and future electronic command and control systems, such as the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Sensor Integration & Decision Support System, thus enhancing the response time and minimizing the risk of undue exposure. 1, record 2, English, - three%20tiered%20detection%20system

1, record 2, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20d%C3%A9tection%20%C3%A0%20trois%20niveaux

Basically, CP/M [Control Program for Microcomputers] is divided into four parts BIOS [basic input/output system], BDOS, CCP [console command processor] and TPA [transient program area]. BDOS stands for basic disk-operating system. As the words imply, BDOS deals directly with the disks themselves. It may be thought of as a directory or guide to what is stored on the disks, and where. BDOS is your computer's electronic file clerk, organizing the information given it so that once it has been filed away on the disks, the computer can find it again when it is needed. 1, record 3, English, - basic%20disk%2Doperating%20system

First and foremost among these is the need for a Command and Control Subordinate System(CCS2). This will be essential for the control of tactical operations and covers five functional areas : manoeuvre, fire support, air defense, intelligence/electronic warfare, and combat service.... CCS2 in the year 2000 will require rapid information gathering, analysis, decision-making and "shotgun" dissemination in near-real time. 1, record 4, English, - Command%20and%20Control%20Subordinate%20System

The real innovation has occurred in the Liebherr actuator, which safely converts the quadruplex electronic command signal into a single mechanical output to the powered control unit valve. The exact layout is subject to patents, but the system drives a common output shaft by means of three fully independent, parallel actuators and uses electronic modelling to achieve double fail operational safety. The system has shown no hysteresis, minimal thresholds and almost zero transients. 1, record 5, English, - Liebherr%20actuator

1, record 5, French, - actionneur%20Liebherr
