The PAVE Program was designed to support the preparation and use of feasibility assessments and business plans for the establishment or expansion of value-added enterprisees which will improve the chances for the successful start-up and operation of the business project. One of the program's key objectives is to improve the chances of obtaining debt or equity capital from public and private financial institutions and individual private investors. It will ensure that those considering new business ventures or expansion are fully aware of what is involved, preferably before committing significant capital. In addition, it will encourage alliances among farmers establishing value-added enterprises. 2, record 1, English, - Planning%20and%20Assessment%20for%20Value%2DAdded%20Enterprises%20Program

1, record 1, French, - Programme%20de%20planification%20et%20d%27%C3%A9valuation%20pour%20les%20entreprises%20de%20produits%20%C3%A0%20valeur%20ajout%C3%A9e

Delta Air Lines built an equity core for its global marketing alliance, taking small but important cross-equity stakes with its two main partners, Swissair and Singapore Airlines.... When evaluating the merits of strong/weak alliances, it is also interesting to note that negotiations between financially near equal carriers often fail. BA/KLM is one example. Even the Delta/Singapore/SwissAir cross-equity holding relationship has not yet resulted in a real strategic alliance. The individual companies have strong franchises that they would have to place at risk to become more closely integrated. They could actually dilute their respective identities and make the whole less than the sum of the parts. 1, record 3, English, - cross%2Dequity
