Maculopathy is a medical condition that involves damage to the macula, a part of the retina in the eye. It is a type of retinopathy that can cause visual loss, even with less severe disease. Maculopathy typically results in poor central vision while peripheral vision remains relatively intact. 2, record 1, English, - maculopathy

Solar retinopathy is a well-described clinical entity, thought to be the result of a photochemical injury to the retina.... It is reported most often following a solar eclipse, thus accounting for its sporadic occurrence. Less common cases have occurred following direct sun gazing. Cases in which direct solar observation has been implicated in retinal damage include : military personnel assigned to survey the sky; religious or ritualistic ceremonies; hallucinogenic drug use... ;mental illness; and matters of secondary gain.... Within several hours of solar exposure, patients may note a central scotoma in one or both eyes, though the dominant eye is often more severely affected. Visual acuity can be normal to significantly reduced... 3, record 2, English, - solar%20retinopathy

In people with diabetes, too much blood sugar can damage the tiny blood vessels at the back inner wall of the eye, called the retina, or block those vessels completely. This condition is diabetic retinopathy. Tiny bulges, called microaneurysms, form in the blood vessels, leaking fluid into the retina. The fluid can cause swelling in a part of the retina called the macula. This serious eye problem is diabetic macular edema. It can cause vision problems or blindness. 4, record 3, English, - diabetic%20macular%20edema

Peroxyacyl nitrates(PANs) are an important component of summer smog. They can cause eye irritation and plant damage. Moreover, PANs are a temporary reservoir for reactive intermediates involved in summer smog formation. It is essential to know the kinetics and mechanisms of their formation and destruction for inclusion in models of atmospheric chemistry. PANs are formed in the atmosphere as secondary products following the OH-initiated photo-oxidation of aldehydes and the generation of peroxyacyl radicals. The Peroxyacyl radicals may react either with NO2 to generate PANs or with NO to form radical products and CO2... 6, record 13, English, - peroxyacetyl%20nitrate
