OBS

The Strategic Development Fund(SDF) is also a provincial funding program that was initiated in 1994 by the Department for Fisheries and Aquaculture. The objective of this program is to promote the implementation of special and precommercial projects and to provide the support essential to a sustainable, competitive and diversified fishing and aquaculture industry. The budget for 1998-1999 was $1, 500, 000. Aquaculture, processing and marketing, and harvesting initiatives were funded under this program during the fiscal year.

Le Fonds de développement stratégique (FDS) est aussi un programme de financement provincial qui a été mis sur pied en 1994 par le ministère des Pêches et de l'Aquaculture. Il a pour but de favoriser la mise en œuvre de projets spéciaux et précommerciaux, et d'offrir le soutien essentiel à un secteur des pêches et de l'aquaculture durable, compétitif et diversifié. Le budget pour 1998-1999 était de 1 500 000 $. Les projets d'aquaculture, de transformation, de commercialisation et de récolte ont été dans le cadre de ce programme au cours de l'exercice financier.
