During the annual federal, provincial and territorial agriculture minister's meeting in Whitehorse in June 2001, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency was identified to lead a process, with provincial and territorial participation, to provide government recognition for industry-developed on-farm food safety programs. The On-Farm Food Safety Recognition Program is a key program in support of the "Food Safety and Food Quality" element of the Agricultural Policy Framework, formally announced by the Honourable Minister Lyle Vanclief in June, 2002. The On-Farm Food Safety Recognition Program is one part of a world-leading agricultural program, involving small-to-large-scale farmers and producers, the Canadian agriculture industry and all levels of government. Au cours de la réunion des ministres de l'Agriculture des gouvernements fédéral, provinciaux et territoriaux tenus à Whitehorse en juin 2001, on a chargé l'Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments de diriger un processus avec la participation des provinces et des territoires, afin que le gouvernement reconnaisse les programmes de salubrité des aliments à la ferme élaborés par des organismes producteurs nationaux. Le Programme de reconnaissance de la salubrité des aliments à la ferme est un programme clé qui appuie le volet «Salubrité et qualité des aliments» du Cadre stratégique pour l'agriculture que l'honorable ministre Lyle Vanclief a annoncé officiellement en juin 2002. Le Programme de reconnaissance de la salubrité des aliments à la ferme fait partie d'un programme agricole de classe mondiale auquel participent de petites et de grandes exploitations et établissements de production, l'industrie agricole canadienne et tous les paliers du gouvernement. Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Relations Division is responsible for strategic planning and the coordination of Veterinary Drugs Directorate(VDD) policies and procedures to ensure that they are in compliance with departmental, other federal departmental and international policies, acts and regulations.
