The aim of this program of the Canadian Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations is to find someone who has contributed to world understanding and to relate their story. This person could be someone who has has worked on a project in Canada which has contributed to UN issues on global understanding, for example, cleaned up the environment, participated in a peace march, taken action against racism, organized a clothing/food drive, spoken on conflict resolution and non-violence, promoted health and discouraged use of drugs and alcohol. UN issues include peace, security, education, health, poverty, environment, and manymore.
