The dance language is used by [worker bees] to communicate at least two items of information to one or more other workers : the distance and direction to a location(usually a food source, such as a patch of flowers). … If the quality of the food is sufficiently high, [the forager] will often perform a "dance" on the surface of the wax comb to recruit new foragers to the resource.

CONT

FORAGER® Sponge-Type M. For the removal of heavy metal and inorganic contaminants... the Sponge can be utilized in columns, fishnet-type enclosures, or rotating drums, and is relatively unaffected by suspended matter. In column operations, flow rates of three bed volumes/minute can be obtained at hydrostatic pressures only two feet above the bed, and without additional pressurization. Sponge-packed columns are therefore suitable for gravity flow applications.

OBS

The washing column is of the fluidized bed type. It is placed higher than the fixing column A so that the suspension of washed resin can flow back by gravity.

CONT

Although this result was intriguing, we still did not know whether honeybees could hear the sounds a forager made during her waggling run. Because the sounds seemed likely to be involved in the dance communication, we have analyzed them thoroughly. Initially, we discovered that the forager made the dance sounds by beating her tiny wings and that the follower bees stood quite close to her when she did so. Therefore, our measurements of the sounds needed to be made in the same proximity.

OBS

Follower bees: term usually used in the plural.
