All helicopters incorporate a one-way clutch system that allows the rotor blades to continue to rotate under the effects of inertia and autogiro-type flight in the event of engine failure.... the flow of the airstream through the helicopter rotor disk is reversed. The force of gravity continues the operation of the rotor blade, thereby reducing the rate of descent and allowing a successful emergency landing. Because of the time required to effect this change and the necessity for other flight maneuvers, these characteristics led to the development of a restricted area of operations of the helicopter known as the deadman's curve, bounding that area of height and speed in which the helicopter should not be operated. 1, record 16, English, - deadman%27s%20curve

In other small machines the centrifugal force on the blades as the rotational speed rises, is made to change their pitch. "Colour" in the name "colour-glass condensate" refers to a type of charge that quarks and gluons carry as a result of the strong nuclear force. The word "glass" is borrowed from the term for silica and other materials that are disordered and act like solids on short time scales but liquids on long time scales. In the "gluon walls, "the gluons themselves are disordered and do not change their positions rapidly because of time dilation. "Condensate" means that the gluons have a very high density. 2, record 26, English, - colour%2Dglass%20condensate

2, record 26, French, - condensat%20de%20verre%20de%20couleur

Unlike the STM, the AFM [Atomic Force Microscope] can scan nonconducting samples. It can do this because it uses optical technology, direct contact, and a laser, to sense the position of the tip in relation to the sample. The tip is very sharp and protrudes from a small flexible cantilever. The laser reflects off the top side of the tip and is directed to a split photodiode. The height of the surface of the sample deflects the cantilever causing the position of the laser on the photodiode to change. The difference in voltage from the photodiode elements provide a "picture" of the surface. 6, record 31, English, - atomic%20force%20microscope

Building Independence is a series of unique programs that help low-income people find jobs and enhance supports to stay employed. Since the initiative’s introduction in 1997, 41 per cent fewer families depend on social assistance. During this time, the province has seen a reduction of 6,800 families and almost 15,000 children relying on social assistance. In addition, there has been a substantial increase in after-tax disposable income for families working for minimum wage and the lowest social assistance caseload since 1991. 2, record 44, English, - Building%20Independence

Building Independence consists of four programs-the Saskatchewan Employment Supplement(SES), the Saskatchewan Child Benefit(SCB), Family Health Benefits(FHB) and the Provincial Training Allowance(PTA). These programs help families enter and stay in the work force by directly addressing barriers to employment. Launched in July 1998, Building Independence represents the most significant change to Saskatchewan's income security programs in 35 years. 3, record 46, French, - Strat%C3%A9gie%20sur%20la%20violence%20dans%20les%20m%C3%A9dias

Legal expert of KIBHR East Kazakhstan branch office had represented the news paper in this case. This is a political goal and the appeal itself does not contain a description of methods separatists planned to employ. The text does not mention violence or force in any part. Creation of autonomy itself is not a violation of territorial integrity-it is an attempt to change administrative-territorial division within the Republic and has nothing to do with its territorial integrity.

As with the angular momentum the torque, or twist, produced by applying a force to a gyroscope, can be represented by a directed line segment--the torque vector. They are activated by means of a sheathed brake cable connected at one end to the brake lever mounted on the handlebar and at the other end to one of the caliper arms. When the hand lever is squeezed the cable retracts within its sheath, pulling the right caliper toward the rim and exerting an equal and opposite force on the cable sheath which, pressing downward, forces the left caliper toward the wheel rim, in such a way as to press rubber blocks against the rim simultaneously, stopping the bicycle through pressure and friction. 4, record 72, English, - sidepull%20brake

School psychologists are frequently criticized for not effecting change in students referred to them. This article describes one model-process which the author, while functioning as a school psychologist, successfully implemented to eliminate this criticism. Adoption of this approach should result in the school psychologist's being perceived as a viable force in the diagnostic-prescriptive process, rather than merely a tester or gate-keeper for special education. 1, record 75, English, - gate%2Dkeeper

The physical adsorption method for the immobilization of enzyme is based on the physical adsorption of enzyme protein on the surface of water-insoluble carriers. This method often causes little or no conformational change of the enzyme protein, or destruction of its active center. Accordingly, if a suitable carrier for the target enzyme is found, this method may be both simple and effective. However, this method has the disadvantage that the adsorbed enzyme may leak from the carrier during utilization, because the binding force between the enzyme protein and carrier is weak. 1, record 83, English, - adsorbed%20enzyme
