The 21st Century Initiative was sparked... at the November, 1994 Wingspread Conference, in which participants decided that the goals of Education 2000 could best be met by a transnational organization collecting, synthesizing and disseminating the best research and practice on learning and education from around the world. The Initiative was registered in June, 1996, as a 501(c)(3) organization in the United States.
