The The Settlements Earth Observation Inventory(SEOI) … is an inventory of geographic information and codes based on an overlay and analysis of the blocks in comparison to satellite imagery. The analysis of the SEOI led to the concepts and threshold-setting for rules related to population, employed labour force(ELF) and dwelling densities, as well as buffers. A ‘buffer’ is a zone around a block or cluster of blocks; for example, a block cluster with a buffer of 1 km would involve a zone 1 km wide around the periphery of the block cluster boundary. 2, record 2, English, - cluster%20boundary

2, record 2, French, - limite%20de%20grappe

Oleoresin capsicum (OC) is an oily extract of pepper plants of the genus "Capsicum." ... It is used as a spice in salsa, chili, curries, and hot sauces; as a pharmacologic agent in topical anesthetic and analgesic creams; and as the principal active ingredient in OC spray, or "pepper spray," used by police and others as an antipersonnel agent. OC extract consists of a complex mixture of fat soluble phenols known as capsaicinoids; capsaicin (trans-8-methyl-N-vanillyl-6-nonenamide) and dihydrocapsaicin, the most potent homologues, make up 80-90% of the total. Capsaicinoid content determines the "hotness" of the extract. 3, record 4, English, - Capsicum%20oleoresin

Oleoresin Capsicum. In the early 1980’s Zarc International, Inc. introduced a proprietary "capsicum pepper technology" to be used as a safe and effective non-lethal weapon by military and law enforcement. "Capsicums" are chili peppers which occur in many varieties that range from mild to hot. Capsicum encompasses twenty species and some 300 different varieties of pepper plants. "Oleoresin" is the industrial extraction of the dried ripe fruits of capsicums and contains a complex mixture of highly potent organic compounds. 9, record 4, English, - Capsicum%20oleoresin

8, record 4, French, - ol%C3%A9or%C3%A9sine%20de%20Capsicum

Pasta machines. There are two basic types of machines that can be used to make homemade pasta-the roller type and the extruder type. Roller-type pasta machines come in hand-cranked and electric versions. Both come with several attachments-usually one pair of smooth rollers for rolling out the sheets of dough, and two notched pairs(one narrow and one wide) used to cut noodles. With this type of machine, the dough is run between the smooth rollers at increasingly thinner settings until it reaches the desired thickness. The sheets of dough are then fed through either pair of the notched rollers, which cut them into noodles. Some machines have additional attachments, such as crinkle-edge cutters for making lasagne noodles. Extruder pasta machines mix the dough inside the unit, then force it out through special plates with variously shaped perforations. 3, record 5, English, - pasta%20maker

Thermomechanical steam treatment(TM-V). The defibrillation is accomplished by a short time steam treatment followed by a flash decompression. This process was patented by Mason(1928) and has constituted the technological basis for the production of a wide range of fiberboards. In the 1970's, the potential of this technique as a defibration and fractionation process was fully realized. Pilot and industrial installations derived from this technology are known under the generic name of "steam explosion methods"... The TM-V processes literally force the destructuring and eventual disintegration of the lignocellulosic wall structure. The hemicelluloses and a small part of the lignin can be extracted by hot water washing. The residue of this operation can be further extracted with an alkaline solution or with organic solvents in order to solubilize the lignin which can then be recovered by precipitation. Cellulose is obtained as the solid residue after the lignin extraction. 1, record 7, English, - thermomechanical%20steam%20treatment

1, record 7, French, - traitement%20thermom%C3%A9canique%20%C3%A0%20la%20vapeur
