FORCING CYCLE [7 records]

Record 1 2013-12-12

English

Subject field(s)
  • Climatology
  • Climate Change
CONT

The non-linearity of the climate system may lead to rapid climate change... Some such abrupt events may be imaginable, such as a dramatic reorganization of the thermohaline circulation, rapid deglaciation, or massive melting of permafrost leading to fast changes in the carbon cycle. Others may be truly unexpected, as a consequence of a strong, rapidly changing, forcing of a non-linear system.

CONT

CONT

The biodynamic compost and spray preparations created out of natural and organic substances are used in minute doses to enhance soil life, plant growth and quality and animal health. They act as a kind of "bioregulator", forcing the self regulation of biological systems, e. g. the farm's whole biological cycle.

CONT

Oxygen is a major biological regulator. In Rhizobia living symbiotically with legumes, a reduction in oxygen is the primary trigger of nitrogen fixation. In mammals, oxygen regulates blood flow to the brain, red blood cell production, and many other critical processes.

The pot is a small-bore plunger cylinder without a torpedo. The two cylinders are connected by a valve. When the valve is open, the melting or plasticizing cylinder pushes the material into the nozzle end of the pot, forcing the plunger back. When the plunger moves back an experimentally predetermined distance, the filling stops and the valve is closed, because the backward motion of the plunger actuates a limit switch. At the appropriate time in the cycle the material is injected into the mold from the second cylinder, the so-called shooting cylinder or pot.

CONT

OBS

pot d'injection : terme normalisé par l'ISO.

Reciprocating screw systems. In a reciprocating(in-line) screw, the material is fed from the hopper, plasticized in the screw, and forced past a one-way valve at the injection end of the screw. The material accumulates in front of the screw, forcing back the screw, its drive and motor, and the pistons of the two hydraulic injection cylinders.... When the screw reaches a certain position, it contacts a limit switch that stops the rotation. When the cycle is ready to inject, two hydraulic injection cylinders, one on each side of the carriage, move the screw assembly forward and use the screw as an injection ram.

When the plunger moves back an experimentally predetermined distance, the filling stops and the valve is closed, because the backward motion of the plunger actuates a limit switch. At the appropriate time in the cycle the material is injected into the mold from the second cylinder, the so-called shooting cylinder or pot. This method of operation gives much better mixing of the plastic, more even temperature distribution, and better control of speed, pressure, and the amount of material. This type machine is called a preplasticizing machine.

Normally, a blow-molded part is cooled externally by the mold cavity, forcing heat to travel through the entire wall thickness. With the poor thermal conductivity of plastic resins, molding cycle times of heavy parts can be considerable. Internal cooling systems are designed to speed the mold cooling time, thus reducing costs by removing some of this heat from the inside. Several systems have been developed that incorporate three basic approaches : liquified gas, super-cold air with water vapor, and air exchange methods.

OBS
