The Seized Property Management Directorate(SPMD) was created for the purpose of discharging the Minister's responsibilities pursuant to the Seized Property Management Act(SPMA). SPMD established on September 1, 1993, provides consultative and other services to canadian law enforcement agencies in relation to the seizure or restraint of property seized or restrained in connection with criminal offences; manages the property; disposes of the property when the courts declare forfeiture; and shares the proceeds of disposition with provincial and foreign governments in accordance with the provision of the SPMA and its regulations. 1, record 1, English, - Seized%20Property%20Management%20Directorate

La Direction de la gestion des biens saisis (DGBS) fut créé le 1er septembre 1993 pour s'acquitter des responsabilités dévolues au ministre suite à l'adoption de la Loi sur l'administration des biens saisis (LABS).
