The door will easily hold in the open position for cart loading. Door overlap (when in open position) is 3.2 inches. Hinges are fully protected by the cart’s top and base when the door is closed for transport.

There is an extremely important design consideration when constructing and installing pull-outs in a cabinet behind doors. The European hinge, that is often used, has the ability to open in less than the space it requires for door overlap. In effect, the door mounted with these hinges opens in a space less than 5/8" which puts the edge of the door slightly inside the face frame opening. While this feature is extremely beneficial, particularly when two doors are close together, it means that a pull-out will rub or hit the door. To provent this, 1" by 2" cleats are installed on the interior of the carcass, and the drawer glides are mounted to the cleats.

The Two Frame Gyroscope. When the rotor is spinning and the spin axis is in a horizontal plane a definite resistance will be felt owing to gyroscope inertia, at the same time the spin axis will begin to precess in a vertical plane and will continue to do so with sufficient power to lift light weights until all the gyroscopic inertia disappears due to the rotor slowing and stopping. The Three Frame Gyroscope. If the base of a three framed gyroscope is held in the hand with the rotor spinning and turned about any of the three axes, the rotor will continue to point in the original direction in space. This property is known as gyroscope inertia.

The intention behind the development of these handrails was to provide the astronauts with safe handling facilities for their EVAs. The Centre national d’études spatiales(CNES) is developing an atomic clock of unequaled precision, which will be launched in 2003 aboard the International Space Station(ISS). The PHARAO clock(Cooled Atom In-Orbit Atomic Clock Project)... uses cooled cesium atoms in order to reach an accuracy and stability 10 to 100 times higher than any other high-performance existing calibrating clocks. The Cesium atoms are thrown on a free flight in a cavity enabling interaction with a radio-frequency field. They then transfer their intrinsic accuracy and stability qualities to the piezoelectric oscillator. The lack of gravity increases the time in which the atoms interact with the piezoelectric oscillator, which then increases the resolution and accuracy of the clock by a 10 factor. PHARAO will belong to ESA's ACES(Atomic Clock Ensemble in Space) payload within the frame of one of its ISS program. The ACES mission will be divided in two parts. The first one, which should last six months, will mostly focus on the PHARAO clock performance. The second part of the mission will last 12 months and will allow the international scientific community to use the clock for specific experiments(clocks’ synchronization, General Relativity tests, geodesy, etc.).

La mission ACES (Atomic Clock Ensemble in Space ) de l'Agence Spatiale Européenne apportera une contribution essentielle dans ces domaines. Parmi les objectifs scientifiques de la mission ACES, figurent la comparaison de fréquence de PHARAO, horloge spatiale à atomes froids, avec un ensemble d'horloges à atomes froids au sol, la détermination de l'exactitude de l'horloge spatiale et la recherche d'une éventuelle dérive de la constante de structure fine. Avec ses trois fontaines à atomes froids de césium et de rubidium, le laboratoire temps/fréquence jouera un rôle clé dans les comparaisons de fréquences.

... the buildings... were built from logs, using the Red River Frame construction technique. Vertical squared logs, slotted on two sides and set approximately three-metre intervals, and supported on a stone foundation, provided the building's framework. The spaces between these uprights were filled by squared, horizontal logs to the required length, tongued on both ends, and then slid down the slots to be positioned on top of the other. The Space between logs was filled or chinked with a white clay mixture. "Water closets" were the exception. They were the only structures built using sawed boards.

Although the redesigned station is now being built as much as possible on the ground, the entire monolithic structure cannot be lobbed into orbit in one piece. The sections must be small enough to fit inside the Space Shuttle payload bay, which limits segments to about 15 ft(4. 6 m) in diameter and 45 ft(13. 7 m) in length. By the time the space frame truss segments are ready for launch, they have been fitted with such hardware as electric lines, batteries, antennas, gyroscopes, robotic arms, solar panel assemblies, and heat radiators. The actual truss is hard to identify once all the equipment is loaded onto it; there's no wasted space. Once the segments are in space the astronauts will simply bolt them together with a few fasteners and then connect hoses, ducts, and other utilities by plugging them into ports between sections.
