Lipid peroxidation is an endogenous chain reaction that consists in the oxidative degradation of lipids; free radicals or non-radical species attack lipids containing carbon-carbon double bonds, with the hydrogen abstraction from a carbon and oxygen insertion that results in lipid peroxyl radicals and hydroperoxides. 3, record 1, English, - lipid%20peroxidation

3, record 2, French, - palan%20diff%C3%A9rentiel

The word "title" has over the years acquired a meaning in general use which is normally thought of as covering all of the interests of an owner in land. We find that the word is used as, "I have surveyed this man's title" and "The title to this man's land is free of encumbrances. "In these two examples, the word "title" has a completely different meaning. In the first instance, "title" is intended to mean extent of title, the boundaries of the land. And in the second instance, "title" is intended to mean the chain of title, the factors which affect the ownership of the land... In legal surveying and land ownership, the word "title" should be qualified or explained by defining it as either "Chain of title"-the province of the lawyer, or "Extent of title"-the province of the surveyor.(Lamont, "Real Estate Conveyancing, "1976, pp. 552-553). 1, record 5, English, - extent%20of%20title

The most common type of CVT employs a steel belt and two pulleys. Rather than step among four or five gears of different sizes, the CVT varies the effective diameter of the drive pulley and driven pulley to create a broad range of drive ratios free of the shift feel of conventional transmissions. Imagine riding a bike on which the sprocket and rear gear magically change size without requiring the chain to jump from one gear to another, and you have the basic idea. By increasing or decreasing the space between the pulleys’ respective halves, the CVT varies the effective diameter of the conical inner surfaces on which the belt rides. It varies these parameters at any time, at any engine or vehicle speed. 4, record 7, English, - continuously%20variable%20transmission

Complementary copies of the DNA sequences that flank the ends are created by using special enzymes; they are called primers. They identify the start and end of the copying process. ... The C-terminal amino acid of peptides can be reduced with lithium borohydride to the corresponding [alpha]-amino alcohol. If the peptide chain is then completely hydrolyzed, the hydrolyzate will contain one molecule of an [alpha]-amino alcohol corresponding to the original C-terminal amino acid. This can be easily identified by chromatographic methods; all the other residues will be found as free amino acids. Another important procedure is hydrazinolysis, which cleaves all the peptide bonds by converting all except the C-terminal amino acid residues into hydrazides. The C-terminal residue appears as a free amino acid, which can be readily identified chromatographically. 1, record 9, English, - free%20amino%20acid

The movement of a free electron from atom to atom leaves a hole in the atom it left. This hole is quickly filled by another free electron. As this movement is transmitted throughout the conductor, an electric current is created from the negative to the positive. At the same time, the "hole" has been moved backward in the conductor as one free electron after another takes its place in a sort of chain reaction. "Hole flow" is from positive to negative. Current flow in a transistor, then, may be either electron movement or hole flow, depending on the type of material, and this determines the type of transistor it is as well. 2, record 14, English, - hole%20flow

1, record 25, French, - aminoacide%20C%2Dterminal

Polymers, with the exception of polyglycols, siloxanes and silicones, and vinylacetal polymers, are represented on the NDSL [Non-domestic Substances List] in terms of the starting materials from which they are manufactured. In addition to the monomers, this includes other reactants such as catalysts, free radical initiators, cross-linking and chain transfer agents that are intended to become chemically incorporated into the polymer structure. 1, record 27, English, - chain%20transfer%20agent
