Electric field electron emission is the process by which free electrons are emitted from the metal surface when strong electric field is applied. Electric field electron emission is also called as electron field emission, field electron emission and field emission. Electric field electron emission occurs not only in metals, but also in liquids. Field electron emission occurs in metals that are placed at very strong electric field. In other words, field electron emission occurs when large amount of energy in the form of electric field is applied to the free electrons in the metals. 2, record 2, English, - field%20emission

Angular rate gyro accuracy is characterized by two parameters: scale factor and drift. The scale factor describes the capability of the gyro to accurately sense angular velocity at different angular rates ... Gyro drift characterizes the ability of the gyro to reference all rate measurements to the nominal zero point. It appears as an additive term on the gyro output, so any actual drift away from a given or predetermined value will cause the angular errors to accumulate. 3, record 5, English, - gyro%20drift

Record number: 6, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Chemicals possess the properties of inhibiting the feeding of insect pests... these can be classed as antifeedants. The first chemicals noticed with these properties were initially referred to as repellants, but they are not repellants in that they do not merely drive the insect away to another plant but do actually inhibit feeding on that plant. In laboratory tests insects have remained on treated plants indefinitely and eventually starved to death without eating the leaves. In field tests the insects were free to wander elsewhere seeking food... they either found weed plants to feed on or died of predation and starvation. 8, record 6, English, - antifeedant

5, record 8, Spanish, - %C3%A1rbitro

The incumbent will develop numerical and computational models simulating the interaction of waves and currents in the wave basin and in real environments in order to predict effects on offshore structures. Emphasis is on the interaction of current-free monochromatic surface wave fields with uniform current fields in a three-dimensional flow frame.... Specifically this will require numerical analysis knowledge to develop the computational formulations of the problem, to discretize these formulations, to write the algorithms and the relevant Matlab codes and to perform the required validation tests and simulations of the resulting solutions. In addition, a robust knowledge of the relatively new field of waveform relaxation and related methods will be essential, as well as extensive practical knowledge of Matlab and Maple programming environments.... 8, record 26, French, - impesanteur

The FFW was accomplished by partitioning the flow field downstream of the rotor into three regions :(1) the near wake, modeled as a series of straight vortex lines;(2) the intermediate wake, modeled as a number of vortex rings; and(3) the far wake, taken to be a semi-infinite cylindrical wake. 1, record 29, English, - far%20wake

... field handball, team court game. Despite its status as an Olympic sport, the game is virtually unknown in the United States. Originated in central Europe in the early 1900s as an outdoor game, it combines elements of soccer and basketball. The fast-paced play of 7-or 11-person teams has as its object the hurling of a cantaloupe-sized ball into a goal. Players may run or dribble three steps with the ball, but most advancement comes from passing. Fouls result in free throws and penalty throws. 2, record 36, English, - field%20handball

In the atmosphere, trees and other grounded objects with points and protuberances may, in disturbed weather, be sources of point discharge current. Close to a pointed and grounded conductor that extends above surrounding objects, the local electric field strength may be many times greater than that existing at the same level far from the elevated conductor. When this local field reaches such a value that a free electron, finding itself acted upon by this field, can be accelerated(in one mean free path) to a sufficiently high velocity to ionize neutral air molecules, point discharge will begin. Different structures will yield point discharge under quite different gross field conditions, for geometry is critically important. Point discharge is recognized as a major process of charge transfer between electrified clouds and the earth, and is a leading item in the charge balance of the global electrical circuit. 3, record 38, English, - point%20discharge

The Centre national d’études spatiales(CNES) is developing an atomic clock of unequaled precision, which will be launched in 2003 aboard the International Space Station(ISS). The PHARAO clock(Cooled Atom In-Orbit Atomic Clock Project)... uses cooled cesium atoms in order to reach an accuracy and stability 10 to 100 times higher than any other high-performance existing calibrating clocks. The Cesium atoms are thrown on a free flight in a cavity enabling interaction with a radio-frequency field. They then transfer their intrinsic accuracy and stability qualities to the piezoelectric oscillator. The lack of gravity increases the time in which the atoms interact with the piezoelectric oscillator, which then increases the resolution and accuracy of the clock by a 10 factor. PHARAO will belong to ESA's ACES(Atomic Clock Ensemble in Space) payload within the frame of one of its ISS program. The ACES mission will be divided in two parts. The first one, which should last six months, will mostly focus on the PHARAO clock performance. The second part of the mission will last 12 months and will allow the international scientific community to use the clock for specific experiments(clocks’ synchronization, General Relativity tests, geodesy, etc.). 2, record 41, English, - ACES%20mission

The incumbent will develop numerical and computational models simulating the interaction of waves and currents in the wave basin and in real environments in order to predict effects on offshore structures. Emphasis is on the interaction of current-free monochromatic surface wave fields with uniform current fields in a three-dimensional flow frame. [...] Specifically this will require numerical analysis knowledge to develop the computational formulations of the problem, to discretize these formulations, to write the algorithms and the relevant Matlab codes and to perform the required validation tests and simulations of the resulting solutions. In addition, a robust knowledge of the relatively new field of waveform relaxation and related methods will be essential, as well as extensive practical knowledge of Matlab and Maple programming environments.
