Pump surging (sometimes called Rawhiding) involves the repeated pumping and resting of the well for well development purposes. A column of water that is withdrawn through a pump is allowed to surge back into the well by turning the pump on and off repeatedly. However, sufficient time for the pump motor to stop reverse rotation must be allowed, such that pump damage can be avoided. Occasionally, water is pumped to waste until it is clear of sediment before again shutting the pump off. This is done to permanently remove the sediments that are being developed by the backwashing action. The process continues until sufficient quantities of water produced are consistently clean. 1, record 1, English, - pump%20surging

Pumping.-Also referred to as raw hiding or pumping and surging. Pump the well in a series of steps from low discharge rates to discharge rates considerably higher than design capacity. Pump until discharge is relatively sand free. 2, record 1, English, - pump%20surging

Free products and dissolved petroleum components from the surface of the contaminated aquifer are captured and treated via multi-phase extraction & treatment. Bioslurping induces a horizontal vacuum gradient on the targeted monitor/recovery wells through a slurp tube which is inserted into each well. Product and groundwater are entrained in droplet form in a high velocity air stream and brought to the surface for treatment. Following air/liquid separation the liquid phase is treated by a combination of oil/water separation, air stripping, and liquid phase carbon treatment before being discharged. The off-gas is treated(if necessary) by vapour phase carbon treatment. The advantages of multi-phase extraction & treatment include : a high product to groundwater extraction ratio; aeration of the vadose zone which enhances natural biodegradation of the hydrocarbon contaminants; all treatment components may be housed in a turn-key mobile remedial unit; a simple product recovery technology which can be transferred to conventional remedial applications such as pump and treat, sparging and vapour extraction system(VES) applications. 3, record 5, French, - joint%20d%27%C3%A9tanch%C3%A9it%C3%A9

Oil furnaces. Indoor oil furnaces... are available in upflow, downflow, horizontal and low-boy configurations for ducted systems. They are also available as floor furnaces, wall furnaces, and free standing space heaters. Oil-fired outdoor furnaces and combination units are rare.... The ducted system, oil-fired, forced air furnaces are usually equipped with pressure-atomizing burners. The pump pressure and the orifice size of the injection nozzle regulate the firing rate of the furnace. Electric ignition is used to ignite the burners.... The combustion chamber and heat exchanger of oil-fired furnaces are normally formed as a common single chamber. It is formed from heavy gage steel into a welded assembly. The hot flue products flow through the inside of the heat exchanger into the chimney. The conditioned air flows over the outside of the heat exchanger and into the air supply plenum. 1, record 7, English, - oil%20furnace

5, record 7, French, - g%C3%A9n%C3%A9rateur%20%C3%A0%20mazout
