In a positive-intrinsic-negative(PIN) diode, an intrinsic(non-doped) semiconductor is sandwiched between the positively and negatively doped semiconductor regions. Free products and dissolved petroleum components from the surface of the contaminated aquifer are captured and treated via multi-phase extraction & treatment. Bioslurping induces a horizontal vacuum gradient on the targeted monitor/recovery wells through a slurp tube which is inserted into each well. Product and groundwater are entrained in droplet form in a high velocity air stream and brought to the surface for treatment. Following air/liquid separation the liquid phase is treated by a combination of oil/water separation, air stripping, and liquid phase carbon treatment before being discharged. The off-gas is treated(if necessary) by vapour phase carbon treatment. The advantages of multi-phase extraction & treatment include : a high product to groundwater extraction ratio; aeration of the vadose zone which enhances natural biodegradation of the hydrocarbon contaminants; all treatment components may be housed in a turn-key mobile remedial unit; a simple product recovery technology which can be transferred to conventional remedial applications such as pump and treat, sparging and vapour extraction system(VES) applications. Principles of Organic Aquaculture. "Even though we don’t have standards, "says Dolinski, "we can assume the same principles used for organic livestock production will apply for aquatic animal production". The water will have to be clean and free of contaminants. It is very likely the water will have to be more strictly monitored than other types of organic production. Residue analysis may be required on a regular basis. The production area will have to be surrounded by a barrier zone to prevent contamination. If there is risk from spray drift for example, a buffer zone will be required depending on your location. The fish will have to be fed organically certified food supplements. The only useable fish medications would be identified on a permitted list, if there are any approved at all. The fish would have to be reared so they could behave "naturally"... 2, record 24, English, - organic%20aquaculture

Frontier zones may serve several purposes. The smallest, of a few metres only, will be to mark the frontier, and will involve the destruction of all natural or artificial protrusions from the surface of the earth. Others may be of several kilometres width, and provide for a customs free zone, or, for example, that doctors and midwives may be permitted to practise their profession in the territory adjoining that of their own practice. Such zones are formed in the interests of the local populations on each side of the frontier, in an effort to palliate the disruptive effect of the political frontier. 1, record 27, English, - frontier%20zone
