Space telerobotics is an inherently complex task, requiring mental visualization skills, fine motor visualization skills, fine motor control, and adhering to procedure and flight rules. Often space telerobotics is accomplished only using video views of the work area, so the robotic arm operator must interpret two dimensional images to create a 3D [three-dimensional] mental model of the environment and their position inside it, all the while being aware of arm kinematics and limitations, avoiding collisions, and following procedural flight rules. To add to the workload, they also control the arm in six degrees of freedom, using separate rotational and translational hand controls, where the movement axes are frequently not aligned with camera views(e. g., the operator views the scene backwards or upside down). 1, record 14, English, - space%20telerobotics

This paper presents a cooperative, multi-robot solution for searching, excavating, and transporting mineral resources on the Moon.... Our results demonstrate the potential of using autonomous robots for autonomous in-situ resource utilization(ISRU) on the Moon.... To fulfill the mission requirements, a heterogeneous team of up to six rovers could be selected from three types of rovers : scout, hauler, and excavator... Each rover had unique capabilities to assist in the lunar ISRU mission task. The scout rover was equipped with a sensor package to detect volatile resources of different types underground. The excavator rover included a 4 degrees of freedom robotic arm with a bucket end-effector to collect the resources. The hauler rover included a truck bed to transport the resources to the processing plant. 1, record 15, English, - hauler%20rover

For a spatial robot, there are two possible cases. A section may have two DOF [degrees of freedom](most common) where the two degrees are derived from the bending motion of the robot. The set will contain two variables for each section, one to describe the bend and the other to describe the orientation of the bend in space. If we use curvature to describe the bending of the section, then we only need to use an angle about the initial tangent of a section to describe the orientation. 1, record 16, English, - spatial%20robot

A snake robot is a robotic mechanism designed to move like a biological snake. Inspired by the robustness and stability of biological snake locomotion, snake robots carry the potential of meeting the growing need for robotic mobility in unknown and challenging environments. These mechanisms typically consist of many serially connected joint modules capable of bending in one or more planes. The many degrees of freedom of snake robots make them difficult to control but provide potential locomotion skills in cluttered and irregular environments which surpass the mobility of more conventional wheeled, tracked, and legged robots. 3, record 19, English, - snake%20robot

Within the realm of robotics, redundant robots stand out as an advanced category characterized by an augmented number of degrees of freedom(DOF) in comparison to their non-redundant counterparts. In contrast to non-redundant robots, which possess just enough DOF for a specific task, redundant robots boast additional joints and articulations, providing notable advantages. These advantages encompass graceful obstacle navigation, heightened adaptability to dynamic environments, improved task precision and enhanced safety in collaboration with humans. 1, record 26, English, - redundant%20robot
