Another method for a first jump is called Accelerated Freefall or AFF. With AFF, you actually jump out of an airplane at about 12, 000 ft(3658 m) and free fall for about 40 seconds before you pull the ripcord to open the parachute. During the freefall you have to maintain an aerodynamic body position. The first type of precision airdrop is a single system called AGAS(Affordable Guided Airdrop System) that uses in-service round cargo parachutes. A detailed knowledge of the wind patterns at the drop location is used to calculate the required flight path and drop point. The flight path is maintained by the system's ability to pull slips which dump air from one side of the canopy. By incorporating wind data with this limited method of steering, the system has proven capable of landing an average of 48 meters away from the intended grid reference when deployed from 13 000 ft above ground level. This accuracy is phenomenal given that the present LF freefall cylinder rarely even hits a large drop zone when deployed from 5, 000 feet above ground evel(AGL). AGAS is the cheapest precision airdrop system presently available. 2, record 20, English, - affordable%20guided%20airdrop%20system

1, record 20, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20peu%20co%C3%BBteux%20de%20largage%20de%20pr%C3%A9cision

The delta position is named so for its resemblance to the delta winged aircraft. This position allows the jumper to travel at maximum velocity and in a head down attitude. In a delta position the jumper keeps his body as straight as possible. The arms are held straight and drawn along the sides. Legs are kept straight and toes pointed.
