Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Another method for a first jump is called Accelerated Freefall or AFF. With AFF, you actually jump out of an airplane at about 12, 000 ft(3658 m) and free fall for about 40 seconds before you pull the ripcord to open the parachute. During the freefall you have to maintain an aerodynamic body position. To ensure that all procedures are followed correctly, two instructors hold you from the time you jump until parachute opens. 3, record 3, English, - accelerated%20freefall

Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
5, record 3, French, - progression%20accompagn%C3%A9e%20en%20chute

A tandem jump consists of an experienced jumper called a «Tandemmaster» and the passenger. The passenger and Tandemmaster each wear a harness, however only the master wears the parachutes. The passengers’ harness attaches to the front of the master's harness and the two of them jump together from approximately 9000 feet, freefall together for 30 seconds, open together, and land together under one really big parachute. 2, record 6, English, - tandem%20jump

1, record 6, French, - saut%20tandem

Total malfunctions are situations in which nothing happens when you pull the ripcord(AFF or Tandem jump), or when the static line gets caught and prevents you from disconnecting from the aircraft. The result of both these situations is that no parachute opens and you continue in freefall. Rely on your jumpmaster to explain how to handle the situation for the type of jump you are going to make. 3, record 7, English, - total%20malfunction

1, record 7, French, - d%C3%A9faillance%20g%C3%A9n%C3%A9rale
