La sensibilité du béton au froid se traduit par l'augmentation du temps de prise et le ralentissement du durcissement [...] Lorsque la température du béton est comprise entre + 5 °C et 0 °C, soit en moyenne 2,5 °C, la résistance du béton de ciment portland à 3 jours est réduite de 50 % (65 % dans le cas du ciment de laitier).

OBS

Noter que les techniques de bétonnage par temps froid sont différentes selon que l'on parle de temps froid sans gelée et de gel ou de gel faible.
